but I have lots of UMDs and I'm not sure if some will ever make it into the online Playstation store. There's a way to upload them using a PSP with custom firmware, but I don't have a working PSP that I can hack, and most people think that Sony won't release a UMD uploader to the public. I'm considering selling my psp games, but I need some advice p.s. tell me if you hear about these titles going into the playstation online store 1. Crisis Core 2 The Simpsons Game 3 Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition 4 Midnight Club LA Remix 5 Final Fantasy Dissidia 6 Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 7 Burnout: Legends
it's a PSP that's smaller and doesn't have a UMD drive http://www.us.playstation.com/PSP/Systems/pspgo.html
If it were me, I'd buy the new PSP and buy a few titles with it to keep yourself company until you hear something about a UMD uploader. If one isn't announced within a month or two (or three) then just sell the UMD's and buy it online at the store. Or use the custom firmware to upload it. -shrugs- It's hard to say imo.
must have awesome buttons! Anyway. Instead of selling your games for a new game system, why not do some extra chores around the house or something? Allowance?
I wouldn't bother. The Go is alright, but really the chances are that UMDs will still be the most popular way to play PSP games. At best wait for the next model after the Go. This model is really just a way to test if downloading games will work for the public. I think it'll be a nightmare, but oh well. I mean, what are the real benefits?
i hate PSP go's my friend bought the japanese one and let me borrow it for a week, the way you hold it in extremely awkward, and not to mention tenses up your hands :/
well it looks cool I'd sell the games because I wouldn't need them, not because I don't have the money I survived guitar hero on tour.
So, you're going to get rid of your PSP, which does all the things of a PSP Go, but also plays UMD's, for that overpriced piece of crap that you have to download everything for?
I wouldn't get the Go, especially since you already have a PSP. I honestly have always hated the idea of downloading videogames; I like to have a physical copy in my hand when I buy them. Something about using my (or in some cases, my parents') hard-earned money on something like that makes me feel like I deserve to actually be able to HOLD what I'm buying, but maybe that's just me. And another point, the PSP you already have is actually better than the Go, as mentioned earlier. You can already download games off of the PSN with a regular PSP AND you can use UMDs. Other than a shinier, sleeker design (and really the normal PSPs design is sleek anyway), there's absolutely no reason to get rid of your PSP for this new one. And lastly, if you ever want to import a PSP game, you won't be able to with a Go. I don't know if you'll ever plan on importing, but don't get a Go if you think you may even consider it someday. You probably won't get much off of selling your used games too, so I say just keep what you already have. In my opinion, the Go may look nice but I would hate not having a real copy of any of my games. Also, I doubt all of the games you already own will make it onto the PSN; it's really up to the publisher. A UMD uploader is even more unlikely, so neither of the poll choices really apply to my answer =/. What I suggest: Wait and see if maybe an external UMD drive is released for the Go. If one is? Go for it. If not? Keep your PSP, because I swear you'll miss that UMD drive if you get rid of it.
