    Pay attention to this, closely, as I'm only explaining it once:

    x = x
    3x = 3x
    2x + 1x = 2x + 1x
    2x - 2x = 1x - 1x
    2(x - x) = 1(x - x)
    2(x - x)/(x - x) = 1
    2 = 1

    Applying the above to your question:

    z = 1 + 1
    z = (2) + (2)
    z = 4

    FINAL ANSWER:
    1 + 1 = 4

    The large and underlined equation states that zero is equal to zero and does not follow at all from the previous steps.

    Furthermore you cannot divide zero by itself so your math is broken.

    Actually the underlined portion works he subtracted 2x from both sides and 1x from both sides in the same step, both actions are algebraically allowed (0=0 is a true statement)

    The problem is later in the (x-x)/(x-x) this is dividing by zero resulting in indeterminate form.
