I need to write an 8-page story for my Creative Writing class.

Literally the only requirement is that it has to be 8 pages, but I'm also allowed to substitute it for two four page stories. Oh, and I should probs stick with PG-13 for the most part.

I'm really not sure what to write about.

My first idea is about a dude who gets a cake for his girlfriend's birthday. He gets into a ton of wacky hijinks on the way there but manages to save the cake every time until the last minute when he drops it as soon as he arrives. Would probs only take up about four pages.

Help me out here, KHV. Give me some prompts, tell me why I should or shouldn't write the cake story, whatever.

 

A girl knits a sweater for her boyfriend's Christmas gift, gets mixed up in lots of hilarious but troubling events on the way to bring it to him, and manages to save the sweater every time until she gets to his house and a squirrel steals it. Pretty original idea, huh?

 

Guy works at a restaurant, answers the phone, and everytime they ask "Is this the *restaurant name*?" he says "NO THIS IS *guy's name*!!!"

In all seriousness, I like the cake idea.

 

In order for the guy to get the cake he has to fight a US Senator in a fight that would appear to be lifted straight from Fist of the North Star. All while discussing politics as they fight.

Or ya know, slap stick.

 

A man taking a stroll on the beach one day eventually comes across and befriends a dragon and a unicorn before going on an adventure in search of the Diamond at the Bottom of the Sea, whatever that is. It all turns out to be an allegory for accepting and coming to terms with your own death.

There are three girls, each 12 years old. Jupineyross, Daryl, and Sarahndrew. None of these girls are related, but they all have the same grandmother.

ONE DAY THEY DISCOVER THEIR GRANDMOTHER, Aunt Robonizer, IS THE CULPRIT BEHIND EVERYTHING THEY EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH.

It's up to you to save the world and decide which of the three girls or Aunt Robonizer, the grandmother, will die.

There is also a cat named Kemfip. idk if he's important or not, i was just pointing it out.​

Write what feels right to you. Sometimes the ideas that come the easiest to you are the best ones.

Speaking from personal experience here.

Ooh! Write about a girl who has to write a story and can't think of anything for it. End it with the words, "Shit just got meta."

 

Write about a person who gets up in the morning, goes to work, gets lunch, goes back to work, gets off work, gets groceries, goes home, cooks dinner, eats said dinner, watches television and then passes out in bed.

 

I feel like that would end up like the Spongebob episode where he writes the paper on what not to do at a stoplight.
