Alright, so ever since I changed my name to Japanese characters, people have been messaging me and I've been trying to message them back, but for some reason what I say comes back in weird boxy characters and they think I'm playing a joke on them or that my account was hacked... Anyone know how to fix it? By the way, if you want to see what I mean message me (I'm online now), its hard to explain. ... And no this is not a lame excuse to get contacts.
boxes mean you dont have that particular language pack downloaded, and if people cant see what you wrote, they are missing the language pack as well
I dont see boxes. I see normally what I type. But apparently for one of my friends she continues to see boxes even though my name is back in english.
have them either 1. log out and log back in 2. check for updates 3. download a japanese language pack regardless of your name, since it is possible it left a "trail" so to speak from your previous name, making your name generalized as a japanese charactered name
If you don't mind me asking, what's your MSN? I can add you and see if I can replicate the problem. I have the proper language pack installed, so if it doesn't happen to me the language pack is probably the issue.
