If you haven't already, watch Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Death Note. All of them contain an element of Code Geass.

Gurren Lagann has the awesome robot fights and the bishie protagonists.

Neon Genesis Evangelion has the whole mind rape stuff, and more realistic robots.

Death Note has the "OhCRAP!" scenes, and the mystical power.

Good enough?

Oh and watch Elfen Lied. Then read the manga of it. Hell, let's just skip to that last part.

Code Geass was an AWESOME anime.
Then the second season had to come and **** it all up.
Forced drama
Over the top action
FILLING UP PLOTHOLES IN THE MOST HORID WAY EVER!
Useless characters, seriously Xinge was so freaking popular in the marketing for R2 and this guy had little to nothing to do with the actual story.
C.C had absoloutley no purpose in the second season at all.
All the knight's of the round members except for Gino, Suzaku and Anya had a total screentime of like two minutes and once again they were the people who were so heavily advertised in the marketing for R2.
Charles and Marianne's grand scheme screamed "EVA END"
The plot TWEEST were so bad that they were funny, hence the reason why I continued to watch the show.

The last episode was R2's only reddeming quality, the rest was quite ****.

Also Evangelion was not a terrible show however it's RIDDEN with forced drama and DEEP phycological bullshit that in reailty has NO meaning at all. Gainax WANTS you to think hard abot it, it all really means nothing. If you want to watch a realistic mecha show, you are better off watching Any Gundam besides G.

Gurren lagann is AWESOME! But professionally looking at it, it's a homage to several old Super robot shows and not to be taken seriously, I still find it ****AWESOME anyway.

Death note, like Code geass turned into **** in the second half. Last episode was BATSHIT CRAZY though.

Elfen Lied is just plain horrible.

Lelouch was the wagon driver because there is no reason to assume he's not, and plenty to assume he is, including a sequel hook.

 

Except for the fact that, you know, he wanted to die and was stabbed with a large object and bled profusely through a gaping wound in his torso evenually leading to him remaining completely motionless while Nanalie(sp?) cried over how she didn't want him to die. Other than that, he could totally be alive.

 

I can come up with some metaphorical B.S. about his "death" really being the death of the king Lelouch, while the traveller/whatever Lelouch survived. Easy enough for the director to write in for a second one.

And as for the gaping wound/crying over his dead body: I direct you to the giant nuke of the series and to Orange-kun.

I love this show so much; I can legitimately say I believe a guy run through by a sword is still alive.
