You know..... I saw something like that in the kh2 fm secret ending!
In the scene where a tornado throws all those keyblades in the air
a big screw flies through the air right past Aqua.... The only things
flyin through the air were keyblades! and they were in a desert!
WHERE DID THE FREAKIN SCREW COME FROM?????
And when Ven is captured by Xehanort you can see a girl
with long hair in his eyes! It couldn't have been Aqua.....

 

I seen this a while ago. I don't really think they're was a side story to it though. Sora's memories perhaps?

 

I'll have to go with the Sora's memories theory. It is called memory skyscraper afterall
