If you want the true ending, pretty sure five times
If you want you can just break a crystal and skip to the end though

I want to break that crystal, it's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tempting. But at the same time i just want to go through it normally before I do it the other way in New Game Plus. Also I do want to do the sidequests that go differently each time, but the crystals are soooooooooooo much of a pain.

Break a crystal and you'd be returned to before you broke it once you're done with the "normal" ending. There's not really any downside.

So you're already slogging through it, but you want to complete the whole game, again. And the side quests.

Hey, I slogged through Legend of Dragoon more than 3 times in my life, and that's a large game as well. Plus, like I said, I want to do it a second time with the alternate ending.

Unfortunately that's the crutch of the game as after Chapter 4 you are indeed going to be doing this over and over again.

I'm just glad I'm at lv99, so I don't have to worry about any more levels. Though it's still a bit annoying with the bosses. Plus, I probably half maybe a little over half the jobs mastered, and I really don't want to take the time to master the supportive or mage roles....I've just been going with 2 templars, dark knight, and knight since 2 chapters ago.

Being in chapter 4, I have no idea what's going on in this thread.

If you're in chapter 4, you're about to find out. Right now I just started chapter 7

Does the game get tedious? What kind of things do you have to repeat?
Just curious since I'm still not sure if I should get it.

Oh, I still say get it, and it's just that concerning the plot, you have to repeat something that kind of gets tedious if you do all the subquests like I do, so you kind of feel like they did it too many times. The game itself is still very nice, and can even be really challenging at some points if you're not careful

    Alright. Its a shame how much the limited edition is now. Really wanted the AR cards ;-;
More 3DS games need AR cards.

Yeah, I did not notice that when I got the game. And I didn't get a card so much as a picture. It came on the guide book, so I had to fold it and flatten it out as best I could. Plus, it's interactive or whatever it's called, so you have to move your 3DS around to keep with the character. It's actually a nice scene. I was surprised. And I'm sure there's different ones for different game cases.

If you want to do everything in each chapter? You have to do everything in the game six times
There are slight variations each time, and new overall plot, but it's fundamentally the same

You do know there are plenty of more fishy games in the sea right?
I played Gone Home over the weekend, 2 hours of a great experience Short, sweet and memorable. Moved onto another after that.
I honestly don't get how people can commit themselves to JRPGs these days, because they're exceptionally long with not enough buzz to stay constantly great. Persona excused.

Maybe just because I enjoy long RPGs? It keeps me interested, instead of something like free-roam games where you just do a bunch of stuff after, or fighting games where there's nothing really new to them. That's why SSBB got old for me, since there wasn't anything new after a time, and it was just the same old thing. At least with long RPG games, even if I've beaten them before, I can play them again and enjoy the long story again. Kind of like when I re-read the percy jackson series, just because it was a nice re-read, and it kept me interested.
Also a reason why Pokemon gets old after a while, since once you beat the gyms and elite four, there's nothing really new to do.

But playing a 70 hour game twice is there really a remarkable enough change in the experience to not feel like nothing new is happening. The combat would still be the same, and multiple choice stories are still fairly linear-ish in their structure. I should know, I played Mass Effect like 10 times over.
Still, whatever you like of course. Not really that bothered, just saying you could be playing something newer and potentially better.
