I disagree, safety is not desirable. Too much safety is counter-effective, you must subject yourself to risk to really live. I know this because I have firsthand experience with it, save yourself from harm's way and there is nothing else to live for; I prevent myself from being vulnerable with others, and as a result I have no friends, and seldom experience strong emotion. Hurt and happiness are two sides of a coin, flip 'em and both are needed to experience the other. No pain, no gain.

Safety > no stimulus > unreactivity > apathy > nonexistence
