I've been waiting for ever to buy the legend of dragoon on the psn on sale but I went ahead and bought it. Couple weeks to today it's now on sale for a buck. Hate when that happens...hey look wild arms. Never played that one before.

I'm really sorry to hear about that ... but I'm totally buying that now. I have the original disc set but that's still a really good buy. It might not be much of a consolation but I totally love you 5ever now for that heads up ^^

Trust me, having dealt with multiple copies of the disks, and dealing with the freezes plus everything else, a digital copy is going to do you some good. I wish I could get it on the PS4, but I'm not able to. You should watch my Let's Play if you're talking about Legend of Dragoon. 'Tis amusing at least

No problem, I was kind of going for a irony/heads up thread. I'm still underestimating the number of fans this game really has.

I've been streaming the game lately, I'm on the tail end of disk three. If I come across your vids I'll be sure to give them a watch.

    Consolation accepted.

It has a strong cult following. I'm always surprised to meet others who like it, too.

This shit has happened too many times for me to count. I remember buying Dead or Alive 5 for like $40. Maybe a month later, it's $20. Then another month, $10.

You know what's funny, at least you bought a game cheap and would have saved only about 4 dollars. I found out earlier today that when I bought Tomb Raider Definitive Edition on PSN for $60, I could have gone to Walmart and bought it for $40. That's something that I find just downright evil

The gas to go to Walmart may have made up the difference.

Only if you're really close and drive a gas guzzler or really far away with a gas saver. Maybe even at a moderate distance with a mid-range car.

I'm about 20 miles from the nearest Walmart but my car is super tiny so it only takes life 5 USD to make it there and back.

Personally, I would pay extra for a physical copy over a digital license.

I'd love to have both a physical copy and a digital license. That way, I could pretty much always play the game...unless it absolutely needs internet ._.

I don't know, every time I open that old thing some of the disks like to slip out. Dx

A friend of mine recommended this to me ages ago and I played a bit of it but lost interest. Is there a part I need to wait for things to start to pick up?

Hmm... Not particularly? It's a slow paced game compared to most RPGs. For example, grinding is both necessary and difficult throughout the game. It made me more patient growing up...

Grinding isn't much of an issue for me, heck I had a blast grinding in FF2 when I was younger (to be clear, not FF2 SNES, FF2+1 GBA port, so not THAT young)
It's just that nothing about the game really gripped me, and doing a bit of research back then that seemed to be the general consensus. If it's building to something I'll gladly play it, like if it's jsut a slow burn I don't mind working for a pay off... I jsut wasn't sure if there WAS one (I avoided spoilers)

Oh. I loved everything else about it. I was highly engrossed in the characters and world as a kid. I'm not sure that it's as engaging for a less impressionable mind, but as for me, I was never bored with the story or setting. It's very much a coherent narrative... I'm not sure why you got bored compared to other RPGs.

Bored isn't quite the word to describe it... it just feels... indistinct. The coolest thing it had going for it was being an early RPG to have lots of VA, and surprisingly decent VA for the time. I should stress I didn't play that long, but it honestly just kidna struck me as a sort of cheap knock off version of a PS1 Final Fantasy.
