I'll give it this: It looks pretty and it'd be fine really if I didn't need permission to run a CD I put in the drive. You'd think if I put it in there I already sort of gave it permission.

Eh... it's not as bad as people say it is, but if your computer can't handle the memory I suggest you downgrade.

I miss XP but as RvR stated above, Vista isn't as bad as it is generalized to be.

If you wanna know how to turn off UAC (User Account Control; the stupid messages that ask you 83736492743 times if you really wanna do that) just ask. :3

Just warning you though, it's a bit risky if you're not an advanced user. :/

I hate the term advanced user. It's so unspecific. When do I become an 'advanced user?' Because there are people that like can't even navigate their way around their computer and I'm much better than them, does that make me an 'advanced user?'

In this case, it's more of a "Can you fix it if your computer screws up?"

Sorry. I'm used to working with people who need help finding the Start menu. x_x

Honestly, I'd rather be on my Vista desktop than my crappy XP laptop right now. D:

This PC is brand new, but it's only got two gigs of RAM =/. Better than my old one though.

Here are my gripes after working with it all day, off the top of my head:

    • I hate how you have to get permission for just about everything.
    • I hate how the wireless network status on the taskbar doesn't display my mbps and all that stuff XP displayed.
    • This doesn't have much to do with anything but I fricking HATE the new Windows Live Messenger!! Dx
    • I dislike the new Start Menu design
    • I HATE the new Ctrl+Alt+Del function/layout/whatever, is there a way to make it so just the processes window comes up?

I'm sure there's more but I can't think of anything right now. I'm tired x_x.

However I like the new window design, how it displays a preview when you're picking wallpapers, and some other stuff I still can't think of.

It's tolerable right now and I'm sure I'll like it more the more time I spend with it, I just prettymuch felt the same way I do every time I get some sort of weird update and have to get used to it. I remember feeling the same way about iTunes and Windows Media Player when I updated them.

Uh also, will most of my XP stuff run on this okay? I've got them on an external.
