Adding someone to ignore means you don't see their posts. If someone is messing with you, you have the ability to ignore them and not have to see them again. If you guys can't deal with each other, it's better for you not to bother with replying to his posts--and for him not to get a reaction out of you.

If you don't add him to ignore and keep getting riled up the way that you do, then there's a problem.
