I found an iPhone on the ground outside my school.
Considered keeping it for a second but handed it in.

When I went on a skiing trip to France with school, I found about 150 euros on the floor of our room. I was amazed and showed it to my friend who I was sharing the room with, we both decided to hand it in. By the end of the week, no one had claimed it so I got 75 euros >:3

Just the other day I ended up finding a $20 bill in the parking lot where I work. Target claims that you need to turn in any money you find , but when it's out in the parking lot with no cars near it, I say my wallet is making a very cozy spot for that bill

It happens. I'm a cashier and it's happened to me twice in the year I've worked at my store.

First time, the lady went to get some yogurt ans the lady behind her told me to ring through her stuff as well because she was buying the first lady's groceries for her. First lady came back, all the stuff was rung through already, I rang in the yogurt and the second lady paid.

Second time, a guy paid for his groceries, then said to the person behind him, "I'm buying yours too. It's my good deed for the day." Apparently, he was trying to do one good thing a day.

Both times, the order was under $20, but it's still nice to see.

I found a hundred pesos on the ground once, there was no one around, so I kept it. Compared to the amounts you guys are saying this isn't really much.

When I was 7 I was walking around town with my mum and spotted £10 on the ground. My mum praised me for finding it but I shook free of her hand and started running around asking people if they dropped it. A lot of the adults said, "shhh, just keep it" and so did my mum, so I did.

I think I bought the guide for Pokemon Yellow with it but I remember feeling terrible about it for quite a while.

I think it's nice that you tried to look for the owner. The adults around there must not have been thinking that someone might have needed that money to buy something important.

One time I found a bunch of 20's on the ground at my supermarket parking lot with no wallet. I was walking home so I took the money and gave it to the store hoping they would find the owner.

Dear God, my mom was pissed when she found out... Apparently when you find loose bills like that, you're supposed to keep it, which I didn't know. I was trying to do the right thing, thinking it belonged to some elderly lady who just got her monthly check. I found out most likely they had a huge keggar with the money instead.
