    I like Madoka because the animation was beautiful and the characters were simple and engaging. It was not deep, but it did not aim to be. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

    I do not regret seeing it as my first in the genre.

    For the first couple episodes because of the animation and promises of an increasingly better story. By the end, I had cried twice, become obsessed with all the characters, and wanted more. Honestly, not the best anime, mediocre at points, but still intriguing.

    It was fun, basically.

    Puella Magi is a derivative work of and is directly inspired by Faust. The plots are essentially the same with some variation and the first episode even holds German that is directly quoted from the work.
