I finally got a PS3

i know some people might not have the funds or time for video games but like

what's the point of buying a ps3 right now when the ps4 is coming out in like 7 months

 

For poor people it makes more sense--the PS3 is relatively cheap now (you can get a used one for like $230, a new bundle for around $300). I'm betting the PS4 will be in the $400 to $500 range, which is significantly more. With the PS4 coming out that means PS3 game prices will take a nose dive, but will continue to be produced, at least for a little while. It's a decent time for it.

 

I guess so. I see the logic behind it, but I'm just the kind of person who has to have new things as soon as they come out or else I feel I'm missing out.

 

That's alright, personally I'd like to get new consoles when they come out but haha poor. I kept my PS2 until 2011 (still have it but that's when I got my PS3) so I guess I'm pretty "new" to it comparatively, but it's kind of nice, it means there's this whole world of games you can play, as opposed to launch titles, which tend to be a bit limited.

 

It certainly works if you have an academic justification for video games or other entertainment.
I had to write an intense socio-economic quasi-conflict theory analysis of five different cheesy anime romantic comedies. And it certainly worked.

 

Also bought my Ps2 ONLY in 2006 (when ps3 came out) kept playing until 2009(when I got the Ps3) It was only in 2010 that I started buying lots of games, I stuck with Ps3 almost a year only leading from friends games or playing Uncharted (that came with my ps3).. there are advantages to buy a console at the end of it's life.. there are a lot of great games (hell there are a lot of great games that will be out this year that justify you getting a Ps3).

Not to mention there is a lot of headache in buying the console at it's release.. Ps3 at realese was so hot that people compare it with George Foreman's Grill (and it could fry due to overuse), Xbox had the 3 red lights of doom (or was it yellow?).
Even WiiU has that thing now that if you internet signal is lost during your system mandatory update you are f*cked as it will brick your system.

Not to mention that is good to wait what Ps4 and Xbox infinity will be all about before chosing one over the other.

 

Except that it's Origin.
