I spend most of Tidus' story in Dissidia mentally yelling "Shut the frak up you whiny jackoff," especially after playing Duodecim. Granted, I haven't finished his story yet, so I don't remember if he gets better about it later on, and I've yet to play FFX so I'm not really the best person to talk. But he's really annoying to me right now >xP

    Comment of the decade.

Whatever temperament you choose to have is your natural temperament. I don't see why you think your choices and your nature are different.

It sounds as if you acknowledge that your view is unrealistic now. No matter. There are worse delusions.

Did I really just read someone in here saying that Jecht was not badass? The man got hammered and stabbed a goddamn shoopuff. Where as the most badass thing Tidus ever did was copy his dad's blitzball move.

The game really should have been about Braska and Company's journey though. Far better characters and more likable characters and they could have cut the silly "We are a dream, my son." Man, Square really dropped the ball when it came to X.

This, I completely agree with. Their journey sounded a ton more interesting.

    ^This should've been the plot for X-2.

Jecht is a jerk . I hate him just as much as Tidus does and can understand why Tidus hates him so. He's a drunken slob, lazy and treats his own son like dirt. He harmed a animal that is not badass that is embarrassing and shameful and even Jecht himself was embarrassed by it and wanted to change his way if you find the Jecht Sphere about it.

Jecht is a terrible Father and he knows it. He was mentally abusive towards his son and caused damaged within Tidus and his self confidence and more. Tidus didn't really feel worthy unless he was doing a cool blitzball move because Jecht picked on him and teased him and only ever praised blitzball things.

Tidus is brought into a different world with strange and weird rules, religion and culture he's completely lost and confused and he doesn't know how to deal with it. At the beginning he wants to go home and he's exhausted from the confusion and stress. Yuna's fake laughing was to get out feelings without releasing it on to other people. It's always looked down upon as a weird or random, embarrassing scene but it's not.

In the end Tidus grows and he gets more mature; Jecht does as well and yet Jecht acting like a drunk moron gives him ''cool points '' while Tidus improving and slowly transforming into a brave hero gets ignored and looked down upon.

Tidus is one of the most underrated FF heroes in the series and no Jecht is not cool you shouldn't believe that somebody is cool because of their look and appearance it's annoying because Jecht is not cool at all. Sorry but I find him to be a annoying ***hole.

Tidus needs more love within the FF Fandom.

I find Jecht cool more in Dissidia than in FFX.

I see the laughing scene as "Ok, a laughing scene" I understand the context.

It's not so much his reason to whine, it's more of he whines EVERY. FIKKIN'. SCENE. I would've been ok with it had it been done less constantly. By the point where he discovers Yuna's fate, I found it hard to sympathize (Don't get me wrong, I did feel bad for the guy since Yuna's a great character and he loved her) because I was more annoyed at how constantly he did it that by that point, it just seemed like "another Tidus scene".

Nonetheless, I love FFX despite it's flaws. The story's amazing. Better than FFVII's. Tidus just bugs me more than anyone in that game, even Rikku's hyperness was more underplayed.

Tidus is still one of my favorite characters to play in Dissidia. I just hate his personality.

But Jecht wasn't even that bad. The only time he's "horrible" is in Tidus' odd dream where Yuna and Rikku become his lovers, which seemed to be more like something Tidus had just imagined. Jecht was clearly a nice man as you could see how his wife acted around him, how much people loved him and you can also see it when you use his spheres. And he got even nicer throughout Braska's journey. He had character development just like Tidus, but Jecht did not have to be whiny and annoying along the way.

Besides, Tidus was obnoxious until the very end. Even in the scene with Yunalesca, where Tidus had supposedly undergone his fabled character development, he still acted like a brat. "This is my story! I decide what happens on Yuna's journey and guys can't stop me because this is my story!"
