I Don't care if the game is 16 years old

Today I beat Emerald Weapon for the first time, I didn't use KOTR, or Mime or really much of any materia, 2 on each character and I won, genuinely very happy right now.

 

Nice work, I was only ever able to beat it using ultima and quad magic followed by mime. Never had to worry about blacking out since I had a pheonix last action combo on my strongest character.

Next, beat that boss from Final Fantasy XII
Yiazmat, I think it was?

 

Everyone had HP+50% to take them to 9999HP, Cloud and Cid had X4 cut, and Tifa had W-item, she was constantly throwing out Megalixers and speed shoes to keep us up, cloud and Cid just wailed on him til he used his move that damages you based on the materia you had, kicked everyone into lucky 7 mode and did a bunch of damage, then from there it was just megalixer like a mofo until cloud or cid were ready for their limit breaks. Not the prettiest win in the world, but it was a win

Much etter strategy than I could ever come up with.

Took me like, 4-5 hours on the first try. My fastest is only 2 hours. I'm not sure if it's possible to defeat Yiazmat in 1 hour or an hour and a half.

 

So what was your point?

 

I'm still failing to see your point. Emerald Weapon is hard. You challenged Crimson Azoth to beat Yiazmat, a battle which is not hard, just long. Are you implying that the difficulty of a battle scales based on length even though that clearly isn't the case?

 

I'm implying it's more of a challenge because it's incredibly tedious.
