Well, I just feel like I'm not special. I wrote a song once and everyone says I should be a composer and musician. But I want to sing, however, I'm not amazing at it (I think). I just want someone to tell me, because I just want to be in a band, performing up on stage, but I'm not sure if I can do it ... If that doesn't happen, then I want to act, but I'm not sure if I have the looks and stuff for that. I don't exactly want to have a normal job, I want to be up on stage, doing some kind of performing, but I don't know what. I don't know if I'm good at it or anything. I'm clever, but that doesn't mean anything to me. I'll add more tomorrow.

    Well, bye.

Don't worry. Not everyone has a voice for singing. Nor those who can dance good. We may not have these, but we are unique. We are all different. We are all special in our own ways. Sure we wish we could do this or that, but you can't gent what you want always.

    Hope I helped =P

Thanks, I might be good at singing, I don't know, and that's what I want to know. I'm good at acting and people say I'd make a great one, so yeah.

can i just point out that we arent exactly the best people to be asked if you can sing or not considering we have never heard you sing.

and does it matter if youre good at it if you love it?

I wouldnt stress over this; you're only 10 and have many years ahead to decide what you want to do. For now just do what you enjoy most and go along with life like you should. :3

Everyone's got a talent for something, and I'm sure you do too. You just need to really believe that you are good at it and then go for it. Don't put yourself down if you feel that you are rusty at one part of it. It can always be fixed, because practice makes perfect.

If you're already a good writer, then composing is already a good start. Now, if you want to sing too, but feel that your voice isn't up to it yet, then you can always get voice coaching. No one can be 100% AMAZING in singing, but you can get pretty damn close if you practice enough. There are plenty of people out there that can coach you and help you improve the flow, sound, and melody of your voice. Also, if you happen to be a student, you can just join chorus and practice some more. Besides, you can also coach yourself by singing along with songs and recording, testing to see if you can go along with it well enough. Then, of course, just fix the pitches that seem too high, or too low.

You can always just post samples of your voice here and ask for critique.

As, for acting, again...practice. You can never be just good at it. Everything needs to be practiced. Join the Drama classes and improve every little skills. If you're concerned about looks, then that's a pointless concern. People of every color, looks, shapes and sizes go into acting and become successful. You don't have to be mega-foxy-awesomely-hawt to go into acting. What really matters is if you are GOOD at it.

If you are really passionate about going into performing arts, then pursue them like you really mean it. Don't stop yourself by saying that you aren't good enough. If you really want it, then you will fix the rusty parts and keep going.

    Here's my take on this.
You want to sing, but you feel like you're not naturally good at it. Thus, even though you're good at other things such as writing, you're totally hung up on the fact that you would like to sing and you're completely ignoring your other talents.
First of all, you're probably fine at singing and as mentioned earlier, a little voice coaching can go a long way. So go for it if you like. HOWEVER.
Just because you want to sing does not mean you should ignore your other talents. If people say you're good at writing and you like that (if you voluntarily wrote a song then I suppose you do), even if you like singing more, pursue that too. You might grow to like it and you'll spend less time learning. Don't forget, you can both sing AND write. You don't have to pick just one.
I love to draw, but I'm pretty bad at it. Music comes much more naturally to me, so I like to try new instruments whenever possible. I may not like it as much as drawing, but it requires less effort for me to get into, so I've grown to enjoy it too. I'm also probably a better writer than a musician, but I'm embarrassed to share my creative ideas in writing most of the time, so I dislike the medium and stay away from it. Basically -- Playing instruments probably isn't my favorite thing ever and probably not what I'm the best at either, but I stick with it because it requires less effort than drawing and I like it more than writing. You should only attempt singing if you're willing to devote your time and effort to it. Even if you like writing less, it may be worthwhile because it wouldn't take as much practice for you as singing. You may think right now, "Oh, well I'm willing to devote my time to singing," but that's so much easier said than done for something that doesn't come really naturally to you. Consider it carefully.

I suggest to not only pursue something you want and/or something you're good at, but to also dabble in other areas you haven't tried. You may find something you like even more than singing that comes even more naturally than writing, you never know.

Hmm well, your talents don't have to do with performing necessarily. In the beginning it may sound good, and you may like the feeling of being on a stage but after you get used to it you will want more... And really a band is really complicated, it requires sacrifices and being a pushover sometimes... >_> My advice on this would be to seperate your interests from your career, because you really sounded pretty much sure you want to be a performer... I haven't been myself interacting with this sector a lot, but one thing is for sure, the deeper you go, the harder it is to stay on the surface. So the first thing to do, is find a way to discover your REAL talents. I don't know you personally, so who knows, maybe your talents will match with your interests. However if they don't, you shouldn't get disappointed, there are always ways to be on stage. And don't feel like you are not special, everyone is special to a certain point! It is up to you if you are going to take full advantage of it! And really don't be sad, just let things flow in a natural way , and everything will turn out to be fine, you'll see... :)

    ^This. All the way.

If people think you're not good, so what? Improve if you want, but skill has nothing to do with it if you love it. As everyone else stated, everyone has a talent. If you've written your own songs, you can write and sing them yourself. If you want to be in a band, don't let anything stop you. Go and try out for any bands you want to join, if they don't like your singing, move to another band. As for acting, once again, go try out.

Rhoppergaurd, this is section is for serious discussion, not sarcasm :/

    Hope I helped a bit.

Also through just these posts I can tell you have true self confidence issues. You also cant be good at something unless you THINK your good at something. Maybe now, when you are like ten, people will tell you "oh darling youre fabulous" or say "That was fantastic!" even when its not. You cant just go off what other people say know why? People will lie to you. You have to know inside that you love something and are good at something because people wont baby you and say youre good forever unless you truely believe you are. So my suggestion is use something you love to get over yourself confidence issues I see you having right now because you are growing up fast and high school is going to whoop youre sorry ass if you dont have self confidence.

You dont find your talent. your talent finds you. and practice practice practice blah blah blah. Hard work beats out natural talent with no practice any day

Oh dear. Well, you're at a young age, so for the time being jst enjoy and live life. Keep in mind that you want to be a performer. Try to explore the talents you have. It could be painting or drawing, gymnastics or another sport. If none of these work and you want to go back to being in the music industry, find something that will suit your lifestyle and needs. These things take time, some people need a whole lifetime to realise their true place in the world. You have a whole life ahead of you, don't stress, just relax & chill. Turn that frown upside down :'D

It's possible to have a talent and have others be mroe talented at that particular talent.
Just because you're a little good at something doesn't mean you should stop working on it. Take me for instance, I'm great with numbers. I rarely used a calculator at school and even on the standardized test. But I still see people who can do better than me.
I'm better than most guys my build at basketball, but I still pale in comparison to others which is why I still practice.
Anything you're remotely good at, PRACTICE IT.
