I bought Dead Space 2 today

I haven't played it yet because I'm waiting for my Xbox to get here.


Is it scary?

 

is Halo scary?

 

Should have gotten it on the PS3 nub.

 

It's definately not for the weak hearted. Seriously, I watched a walkthrough and it scared the living daylights outta me in just the first hour. I didn't know if he was actually going to get a hit on that creature, and it just kept coming and everything suddenly jumps out at you. You think...hey, this place looks like nothing could hide in it...but BAM, they jump outta everywhere! So yes, it's scary.

 

Come back and tell us after you've sat in a dark room playing it at midnight alone. Actually, I think even tetris could be scary in that light.

 

Ah. I wish I could livestream games from my xbox. So you can hear my screaming. :lolface:

 

Just record it, it will be funny without actually knowing where you are in the game xD

Exactly, like the first time you break off a Brute's armor and see their ugly faces up close and personal. ....*shudders* nasty beast, nasty.

 

So it's official. The moment I get a mic for computer, I'm recording Dead Space 2 for all to see.

 

Yeah, like fighting the flood for the first time at 4am in a dark room.

 

I just bought it too. Though I'm gonna buy the first game before i try it.

I think he's talking about the first time you encounter the Flood in Halo CE lol.

 

Scary =/= Startling
Just because my dog startles me sometimes doesn't mean she's scary.

It's the same thing with Dead Space. It isn't scary at all. It's just startling.
Plus you sorta start to know when the necromorphs are going to jump out of a vent. After 50 bloody times it just gets annoying.

If you want to feel dread, get F.E.A.R. The first one, not the new ****** ones they're coming up with. Man, playing F.E.A.R for the first time... It had jumpy moments, and scary ones. Going to a room full of dead Replica soldier bodies and blood smeared on the walls...shadows everywhere that you can't see crap... I didn't want to move from the spot lol. I was scared.

And I suppose Dead Space could hold those elements, too. I have played the first game, and it does have it's own scary environment. It's scaaaary.

 

F.E.A.R Is smalltime.
