I put in my Shiny Gengar code and then decided to screw around for a bit because I haven't played in a while and then HOLY ****ING **** my first random encounter was a shiny Venipede.

i have a shiny spiritomb though.
and i had a shiny gourgeist. i can't find it. i don't know what happened to it.
shiny pokemon never appealed to me that much. i don't think they look as good most of the time.

 

It's the rarity factor for me. My ultimate goal in Pokemon is to catch 'em all in every gender, every form, and then again for all the shinies.

 

Yeah, I get it, but breeding and filling the dex is enough for me. Shiny adds another component that I just don't care for that much. But hats off to people who shiny hunt. That seems crazy tedious and something I wouldn't want to try. well good luck with that

 

I encountered a Shiny Magikarp once in the Safari Zone in Emerald. I also found one before in my Red version how many years ago

I swear. I had never found a shiny before, but Red was the first one. In fact, the only reason I remember was because it was entered differently than anything else, and I wanted it because I thought it was stronger. Never caught it though. It was only how-many-years-later that I learned what it really was

 

Not sure what that was, but it wasn't a shiny. Shinies didn't exist until Gen II.

Well, it was something, because I swear it was on Red. Than again, I did use missingno alot in Red, so maybe I was getting a glitch?

Fine, I'm just telling you as I remember. Still, I know I've only seen 2 shiny pokemon in all the years I've played the game...not counting johto garyados.

 

I once ran into a shiny Doduo.

In Gen III.

In the Safari Zone.

It ran away.
