I am conducting an experiment...

For the kids at my school.

I've been attending a Christian school for a while now and most of the kids and teachers think that they'll be shot or harassed in public school for their beliefs. So I need your imput on these questions. (you can answer them even if you're not in school anymore too)

1. What would you do if your new friend said he/she was a Christian?

2. What would you do if you saw someone talking to someone about God in the hallway?

3. What would you do if you saw an excessive Christian who goes so overboard that:

Example: They think tetris is an evil game? (from that other thread)

Were at the breaking point at my school. It's either you stay at the high school campus at the school or you go to public school. I wanted to show people that public school isn't a place were people are harrassed every 2 seconds for what they believed in.

(Of course you'd get really ticked off at the excessive Christians)

Also don't forget to answer the poll. It's crucial for the final imput.

 

I talk about God all the time, and who he is all the time at my school, and I go to a public school (not an obsessed religious fanataic)
Nothing bad ever happens to me :D

 

1. I'd accept that person for who they are. I have tons of Christian friends, I used to be Christian! Who would persecute someone for an ideology they have?

2. Well I tend to "shy away" from religious fanatics, or even people who talk about god constantly. But I'd mind my own business.

3. I'd listen to them, respect them definately, but It would drastically change my viewpoint of them.

I have tons of friends that are christian even though Im athiest, we have no problems :) Ive even gone to church with some of them a couple of times.

Just walk away. xD Because I do NOT want to get into an arugement in a hall way over God.

I might point it out to my friends but I wouldnt go out of my way to be like "WHATAFREAKHAHAHAHA*pointandlaugh*" However if they were getting all up in my face about it, I might say something back.

Well if i made a new friend and they were Christian I would find the nearest stick and start beating them hahahah!! No i would I waz jk but anyway I really wouldnt mind I try not to get to tangled with them being a certain religion or not, and besides ill prolly forget anyway by the end of the day.

I prolly wouldnt pay to much attention, cuz I hate wen ppl are over preachy and think games etc. are evil wen there is especially no harm to them (especially some blocks moving on a screen, yea that is very creepy and evil MWAHAHAHAHA!!) Id prolly just be all like :sparta: and sparta kick them lol, jk I really wouldnt

 

I'm a Christian,and whoever has a problem with it,too bad.Respect me for who I am,that is all I gotta say.I treat everybody the same,I'm not racist,or religious.

I would accept them who they are, and just continue being their friend.

Continue on with walking through. God is their own opinion, and if they think he's real or not, it doesn't involve my input.

Well, they do sort of annoy me. But I honestly just ignore them, and continue on my way. I can't just blurt out something like 'Don't talk about God like that!' I know I would be in some deep shizzy. So yeah.

 

im a christian...and i go to public school...and it really doesnt matter the anyone there.... :3

 

Ooh, the goods are here, I'm an Atheist and I got o Catholic School, it's the opposite, but whateve's I'm treated fine there, i have a lot of company and friends. Yes, they always think they are and I see plenty of people on the way to school making the sign of the cross when they are about to have a smoke or something. I think they are kind of just acting. Their persecution is long old. ​

I could care less on the person's religion.I think one of my friends is a Christian.I have family members that Christian and that doesn't effect anything.

2. What would you do if you saw someone talking to someone about God in the hallway?
Again I'd care less.I believe in God and all that but I wouldn't care if someone started talking about it in the hallway.

3. What would you do if you saw an excessive Christian who goes so overboard that:
They do get annoying but its their belief.I'd probably ignore everything and just say I was paying attention.I believe in God but like my uncle's wife.She's overboard but still its their belief.​

I'm a Christian as well. So it wouldn't make a difference to me. I don't judge people by their belifs anyhow.

I'd share my input. It is a nice way to meet individuals and share opinions and expressions.

My mother is like that. I'd just have to deal with it.....

I voted act friendly, which is what I naturally tend to do towards everyone, regaurdless of who they are.

Attend to him/her normally, I mean I'm a Christian, and like roxas 95 said, respect others for who they are. Plus, I'm in a Catholic school so most of us are xD

Nothing. :] Or join in if I'm alone... and if I know them xD

ignore I suppose ;p or talk to them if they're totally crossed the line >.<

 

This belief that they'll be shot or haressed for their beliefs is just point blank stupid.Beliefs have nothing to do with stuff like that besides most of populus of the world is now Christian.About question 3, if they're that obsessed then they are better off in a christian school because if your that obsessive then you see life as one big sin and the people of a christian school would understand while with public schools they pretend they know what your talking about and then harassed you.

1. I would say: "You too? Awesome!

2. I would do nothing, but I would respect that person.

I am christian, so technically......i don't do anything because i am homeschooled online what-not...AT A CHRISTIAN ONLINE SCHOOL.....so how should i act?

 

You shouldn't act any different to anyone else.

 

1. Act the same. I'm Christian, so I wouldn't care.

2. Depends on what exactly they're talking about. If they say Gawd! I wouldn't care. If they said GAWD DAMIT! I'd get a bit peeved.

3. I'd listen and respect their opinions.

 

Self-victimization much?

Christianity is the dominant religion of the world (though it might not remain that way forever, as the number of muslims is already comparable to the number of Catholics, though the number of all christian sects is greater then the total number of islams, but I'm straying), and they're worrying about being persecuted?

Sure, it depends on where you live, to an extent (if these complaints were made by someone living in an islamic country, I might be inclined to take them more seriously), but in most relevant countries, you won't be persecuted for being christian. Most of the christian persecution is done by christians themselves.
