Possible or not, we'll never be told. It'd be way to dangerous, with people of power tryinmg to use it for their own selfish means.

If traveling to the past would be bad because you'd change our present, and traveling to the future would change all the present after that, then time travel is something that will be terrible however it's used. Unless there's something that really needs to be changed, and is worth effecting the eternity of time.

Well technically speaking, if you invent time travel and go to the future, there's a very high chance (give or take a century or so) that you'll just confirm their account of when time travel was created. they'll most likely have time travel because you would have invented it.

    O.o Sorta confused...
Oh, I get it now, well that's why time travel should never be invented or discovered, because once a few people find out, others could, and that could be enough to start off massive chain reactions. And if time travel was created, it would be too dependable on humans for me to trust it.

No, inventing time travel implies that it exists in some form in the future.

Yeah. So it shouldn't be invented.

It's a paradox. It says nothing about whether or not time travel should be invented.

ok, but I say that time travel shouldn't be invented, because then it'll be possible, which I think is a bad thing, as it could get into the wrong hands.

A few things are off with your argument. First off, if time travel is ever figured out, no normal people will never be allowed to use it. Only researchers or government officials would be allowed as to not disturb history, and even so it would rarely be used. Second, I don't believe that backward time travel is possible, but I think that forward could be. Maybe by surpassing the speed of light (yea, I know, you would technically have infinite mass) or something, but I think it's more plausible than backward time travel.

I just think we should leave well enough alone, because if you went back in time and screwed something up, were you supposed to screw it up, or are you going to screw up the entire future now? Its a just a confusing subject.

    Some research I did...

The following passages are from a research paper I did on the subject:

I know there are a few people in the quotations above that no one has heard of, but the concepts are the same. Either you believe in the whole "Back to the Future" perspective of time travel or you believe in the "Grandfather Paradox" theories.

Or you could just choose not to believe in time travel at all.

It may happen. I mean technology has advanced in a quite fast pace and who knows maybe in a couple hundred years some genius will unlock the mysteries of time and space. This is my opinion and I am not going against other's opinions.

Have you guys seen somewhere in time? He merely had to convince his mind that he was in the time he wanted. Got the girl, made out(got her undressed), forgot he had a modern penny, and came back to the right time.

I think time travel is possible. It's all a matter of time until someone does it.

You can't site a sci-fi movie to prove a point about real life science.

    good point.....lol......but seriously, i think it's all a mind-over-matter type deal.

like...if you convince your mind that the spoon is bent then it'll bend. something like that.

The thing is, according to all current theories, time is a tangible 4th dimension, and as likely as this is, the likelihood of us reversing it are the same as that of us discovering negative depth.

it could be possible. not that i would want to... unless to fix my mistakes. but other than that, it sounds like it'd make you sick. any way, i say it's possible. i mean, you never know!
