you're* What is wrong with you, Plumsykins? :3

Oh, I completely agree. I've never said, neither here nor to my mom, that I'm the world's most perfect driver -- in fact, I really need to practice defensive driving skills because my mom says that, while I'm a good driver (I signal with plenty of notice, make complete stops, etc.), I follow too closely sometimes and that just about every instance where I had to take emergency action could have been avoided. However, I wouldn't consider myself to be careless and whatnot.

I do drive carefully when weather conditions are really bad. You may remember this, where I was going 50 MPH under the limit.

Rain isn't as dangerous as snow, slush, or ice.

Slippery roads are slippery roads. It doesn't matter what's making them slippery.

Except that rain doesn't make them as slippery. When it first rains after it hasn't rained in a while, sure, because of the oils and dirt in the road, but after it's been raining for a while, it's not as dangerous. However, notice how I said "not as," so I know that wet roads due to rain are also dangerous, especially when the rain leaves areas of standing water where you can potentially hydroplane.

In a really sick way I love these situations. Like okay, they are hella scary and all, and I'm not just getting off on the danger high or anything, but it's a ton of fun to watch people going 30mph down a road that people usually speed down at 75+.
