i have a question, first off i am agnostic and not really religious, but i cant understand how humans ended up so different to every other animal on the planet? im all for evolution but i cant understand how such a huge gap occured.

was it evolution got a really good idea for an organism and ran with it for millions of years? or is it just a fluke? or does it leave room for a higher being in the theory of evolution?

I too asked myself that question. If it was evolution that caused us to be this way, maybe somehow it chose for only one species to be the higher being. Like if all animals were as intelligent as us, probably we would constantly rage wars with each other. We have wars all the time as it is.

Well the mapping of our genome is finding more and more similarity with the lower primates of our world. Keep in mind evolution is a series of changes over millions of years and the existence of primates stretches very far on the evolutionary change.

We were made special, made to be superior. We were chosen by God to be the masters of the Earth.

Maybe it's like generations. I mean humans are the first known generation of so called higher species maybe it's 'cause like the certain branch was affected and stimulated a different genetic progression over the years. Maybe the primates will eventually evolve to be similar to us and they'd be like the second generation. I'm lost now. Disregard that I can't remember what I was thinking.

Something tells me that will change in the next 1000-2000 years.

this is the most intelligent topic i've seen all month. anyway, every species was created with their own ability that is better than other animal's. human's ability is their thinking and minds. so notice that humans don't beat animals in much else? that ability has helped humans do everything

Could it be that as humans have developed so much, we have supressed the development of other species? As in, other species that have the capability to become as advanced as us but won't because of our influence?

no it's just that humans were lucky to get the ability to think and plan ahead

While limited cognitve processes are seen in animals like dolphins and gorillas, humans are the most cognitively advanced species on this planet.
