How to Get an iTunes Store Account Without Credit Card Info

I've been looking for a way to do this because for a lot of the new iTunes features require an iTunes store account, but I have neither an account nor a credit card, so I couldn't use them. If you have a similar dilemma, here's how to get an account without a credit card:

1. Go into the iTunes store.
2. Find the Apps in the black bar at the top, and on the right side there's a section that says 'Free Apps'. Click any App. It doesn't matter if you don't have an iPod that won't support Apps -- you won't even have to download the App.
3. There should be a 'Create a New Account' button. Fill out the required information, and when you get to the payment method there should be a 'None' option. Click it.
4. Fill out the rest of the info (you can make things up, I didn't but I have before on similar things).
5. And you now have a free account. :3

 

You don't really need to do that. If you click on the "Account" link in the Top-Right nav bar ("Quicklinks"), a box will pop up. At the bottom-left corner of that box there's a button that says "Create Account". No matter which way you get to the form, there should always be a "None" payment option.

 

Really? I've been trying for ages to get one without credit card info and every link I clicked made me put it in. I've never tried to quick links menu, though, so maybe it does work.

 

I don't know, I could be wrong. I made my account by clicking "Account" like I said before. But my friend said she had to put in credit card information. o.O I don't know, maybe you should try asking about it on the Apple/iTunes forums?

 

I've already read some Apple/iTunes forums, and they said that they require credit card info. Your version might just be old or it could be a regional thing, I'm not sure. But this method works. :]

 

In Australia it's a little different. You don't have a 'none' option. So when making an account without a credit card.. you MUST have an iTunes top up card with you. There go as low as $20 so it's not expensive. Click the 'iTunes Card' option and put in the numbers of your new one and WAZAAAM, you have an account.​
