He's saying you got cavities because you consume too many sweets.

You made the bed and now you're lying in it, so to speak.

Yea but the thing about that is I take pretty good care of my teeth, and I've never had a problem with cavities from sweets before. (I mean, these are all really tiny cavities.)

I've been thinking about it, though, and I think it might be all the goddamn Nutella I eat so I'm actually trying to quit eating it.

Sweets don't actually give you cavities. I mean sure, the sugar is a tasty snack for the germy things that live there, but the sugar doesn't really stay long. Saliva moves that all into your stomach. As long as you brush daily, you won't get cavities off of sugar.

ALSO!!! GREAT NEWS!!! I went to get my last 2 cavities filled today and apparently, I brushed/flossed one of them away! There was a cavity but I brushed with awesomeness and now it isn't there. I didn't know that could happen! Great joy!

    That's a smart decision.

That's like the equivalent of quitting smoking

that said, I can't eat too much Nutella because chocolate gives me migraines, so I tend to stay away from it.

    My faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace is numb.
I got two cavities filled today. Two more on Monday, then two the day after Christmas, then the last two on the 30th.

and I had to drive home in the snow.
    still mostly lucid, will update.
