How the heck do we come up with our usernames?

For me I started up playing a MMO and a mashed buttons to come up with an original name, and tweaked some of the vowels and constanants untill it looked passable. And then I liked it so I used it for other stuff.

 

Jacob + anime + janime was taken on gmail, and it suggested 6 = Janime6.​

 

It sounds cool and has a cool meaning.

 

Aura is actually a nickname a friend from school had given me. She was trying to come up with a nickname when we first met and she had trouble coming up with one. And apparently in some anime there's a character named Aura who has long hair and has that sweet and innocent personality. She's also apparently a Goddess or something so then my friend gave me the name Aura...because I'm like a Goddess to her, apparently.​

 

May I ask why you can change your name more than once?

As for me, one of my friends is part Japanese. So one day I had called him and he said "moshimoshi" which I thought was so cute. =^^= And well it means hello in Japan but only when you answer the phone. As for the "!!!" I had thought moshimoshi by itself seemed kinda dull so I added them and now it seems a bit ******ed. O_o Oh well. =^^=​

As for my names I've had so many I don't really want to recall them all. I'm really quite fond of Juicy atm though.

My first name, ObsessedWithSora, is quite self-explanatory, even though I prefered Roxas at the time. xD

 

I was originally ..., because there's that one Pokemon episode where the biker guys call Ash & Misty 'Awesome Ash' and 'Mighty Misty,' respectively, and the 82 was just there because I like drawing eights and I like drawing twos.

Then it was just shortened to Misty to make me look like less of a nubcaek because everyone calls me that. :v I have often considered changing it to 'Mistehhh' for a few days.

Star - I've got a major obsession of drawing stars on everything,

Plus I think it sounds cool and I used it as a charater name in sevaral bits of writing before joining here.

Famous: pretty much just a brand of clothing I liked at the time
I was going to choose the name "Roxy" at first but didn't. People probably would think I was talking about Roxas, anyways.

Technicolor Pulse: at first it was supposed to be "technicolor phase" as in the song by Owl City. But I decided (with someone else, I forget who,) that "Pulse" would sound better. so that's that.

Any other names are usually just for a tiny amount of time, and based off a character or something. Also, the twin names and fad things.
The only exception to this is when I did variations of my name for a little while. I don't know if I'll do this again, seeing most people call me by my name anyways xD

Kairi_Li93 Okay... this one started out when I just remembered what my name was all the time and I would never for get it. like I loved Kairi... lol I wanted to be her. My last name was Li and my birth year was '93

~Muffin~ .... okay... it had to be muffin because I wasn't allowed to be Sex Muffin due to problems with my name being shown on KHV. lol someone named me it and it just caught on. I'm that much of a pimp ;D

Starry : D Okay.. this started as my PSN name... I sat with my PS3 thinking of what name I wanted.... and I came up with StarHearts (thought now I just want to change it to starry or whatever. Plus my new msn was starry.hearts... so I just rolled with Starry because it sounded nice.

 

My first name, keybladewarrioroflegend: I thought it sounded cool. I tried using it on a few different sites but it was always too long. I eventually grew to hate it. xD

My current name, Vladimir Makarov: I have an obsession with Vladimir Makarov from Modern Warfare 2.

 

Mine was because I knew no one would have it and I wanted it to sound all mysterious and slightly poetic so that is why it's an oxymoron.
I failed epically.

When I was little I had a Breyer collectible unicorn called Stardust. Well actually, I still have it, it's sitting on my dresser. But whatever.

I thought the word sounded cool so I started using it as my username for everything, or whenever it wasn't already taken. And [obviously] I still do.

I probably wouldn't still have it if it wasn't for the fact it would get taken if I changed it.
So yeah.
