How long do you think Kingdom Hearts will Go?

Hey guys, how long do you think the Kingdom Hearts series will go on (not including the final mixes)? I mean it could go on forever for all I care (and I would get every single one of them lol) but with all the connections between characters from game to game and hidden agendas each character has it makes you wonder how many games does it take to finish Kingdom Hearts!!

Do you think it will get like Final Fantasy?

 

I think they'll do BBS and III, and they'll be done. They have to do three, especially with that huge cliffhanger ending in KHII. But who knows, the Final Fantasy series lasted up to 14 so far, not to mention Dirge or Cerberus and Tactics, and other things like that. I just don't see this going past a third one. Maybe they'll do something after the third one on DS or something, but not on consoles.

D: But it could have easily ended at KH1 big boss dead, all heartless stopped woo the worlds safe but they decided to keep going...right? so it should go on longer.

 

Agree with that. If they end it on the third installment it would be perfect. As much as i love KH, i don't want to see a KHXI when on my sixties. How many new enemies could they invent? Heartless, Nobodies etc....
Either this or at a possible KHVII, since 7 is a number surrounded by magic and blah blah, it would fit to end it on number 7.

But then again, Disney has so many movies, and why stop milking the cow?

You forget, everyone new number of Final Fantasy leads up to different characters. Kingdom Hearts has only 3 sets of characters so far. Sora and his group, Organization XIII(Dead), and The three knights.

It'll go on however long Nomura's attention span will go.

 

It'll probably continue WAY past Birth By Sleep. Disney and Square are probably going to milk up all the cash it can from KH.

 

The sad thing is your probably right. But the only reason they got away with all these Final Fantasy games is that they change the setting, characters, rules, and plot every game (with mixed results) KH on the other hand, is centered around a very specific story arc, with levels based around disney movies. And theyre kinda running the disney vault dry...not that it exists... maybe the disney vault is a nobody. :/gasp:

Thing is, there are a lot of other factors that you have to take into accout. like how many monster classes can you have at the same time? or how you can replace Sora, or how many Replicas and Nobodies of Sora/Riku/Roxas it takes to screw in a lightbulb.

It would basically be the same repetion of events over and over again not fun, and unless Disney pays Nomura a lot of money, I dont think he'll go past number 3. Remember how long it took for a FFVII sequel movie? and look how not crappy THAT turned out.

They'll definitely make a Kingdom Hearts 3, but I can't predict where it'll go from there.
I wouldn't mind a few more games but I do hope they can quit while they're ahead.

 

I think a good decision to make would be to make atleast up to KH3 then do a Hiatus on the whole KH series.
Eventually the series can be brought back, people will be intrested again, it will give time for more ideas and themes to develop, the story can be started anew (allowing new gamers to play without being confused about the current path of the story), let new Disney films to be created and so on.

 

I personally think it would be fine if they keep it going, just so long as they keep it fresh. If they did something like Final Fantasy, where there could be several "sub-series", each with new characters, it would work just fine.

Imagine, Kingdom Hearts 1-3 are about Sora, then, maybe they'd make another series about some story that takes place in the future, or in the past, or in a completely different universe.

If you think about it they can go on as far as they can with all these Characters. But it's all on Nomura's head. D:

 

I bet that Nomura has it all planned out in a big flowchart on the wall and he knows exactly where the story is going to go whenever and wherever it happens etc. He's the only person who can answer your question.

My honest opinion? As long as it needs for the story to be resolved and for there to ba a happily ever after.

Yeah, they were supposed to stop Final Fantasies at XIII, now we're up to XIV. Final Fantasy VII also has a cliff hanger from DoC, so there's a possibility they'll keep that going. I think the same goes for Kingdom Hearts. While I would prefer they don't whore the hell out of it, I think they'll keep it going as long as they have money and it's popular. There haven't been really any other hints to a KHIII though, apart from the ending of KHII.

 

I hope kh goes forever.
