My girlfriend used IE since she started using computers. When I found out, I downloaded Palemoon for her. I asked her how she likes it and she said the only advantage is being able to use skins (not sure if IE has any form of this?). Otherwise, she doesn't use the internet enough to notice any difference.

You've gotta use something to download Google Chrome.

Idiots who don't know anything about the internet do.
Sadly my stepfather keeps defending IE without admitting all of its flaws.
Keep telling him Firefox is master race.

Most programs that I use for school are never Internet Explorer friendly, so I inevitably have to use either Mozilla or Chrome. But I ain't complaining.

Because the companies choose what you start off with, not because it's the superior browser. This doesn't say anything for IE.
If IE didn't come pre-installed on computers, I would venture to say that a very, very, small percentage of people would go out of their way to download it.

I think he means the idea that he`s being used he`s seen and used as a cooperate cash cow makes him feel uneasy.
Personally I find ad redonkulously annoying. Ads are usually a month behind on the things that I enjoy anyway.
    - Terrible optimization. Many websites these days do no support Internet Explorer thus many sites end up looking like complete ass
    = Lack of add ons
    - Lack of adblock: This is specific to IE because it`s actually not giving me the option to block ads
    - http://www.crashie.com/ the fact that you can`t go on this website due to a single line of code. Essentially has terrible compatibility with lots of javascript.
-It`s slow. Like let`s just get this out of the way. IE is PISS slow. PISS. SLOW. This may not be a problem for you but looking at the fact there`s really no denying. If Chrome, Firefox or Opera is slower or as slow for you you have the shittiest computer humanley possible.
    - There`s no spellchecker. No seriously this is a ****ing STANDARD for browsers these days. Any **** spelling on the internet can be blamed on IE users
    - Patches are delivered on a fixed schedule. If it just updates and a day later there's a bug? You're gonna have to wait until the next fix day.
    - Constantly needs me to update flash manually. This is a problem with Firefox to hence why I use Chrome which updates it quietly for me.
    - Internet Explorer DOES not check for add on updates. You have to do it manually.

Ultimately unless you REALLY ****ing love Internet Explorer there's little to no logical reason as to why you SHOULDN'T get Chrome or Firefox or Opera.
    I mean
    THEY'RE FREE
It's like your playing a Playstation and someone's offering you a Playstation 2 for fee and saying "HEY! YOU LIKE PSX GAMES!? WELL YOU CAN PLAY THEM ON HERE PERFECTLY AND EVEN MORE GAMES!" and then saying
"Eh, I have no problems with my PSX, I'll stick to it".

Internet Explorer is BAD compared to the other listed browsers
There's nothing wrong with you LIKING bad things
But don't go saying your bad thing is good
    Because it's actually not.

My serious problem with IE is that it messes up how a *lot* of websites display things. Not just that it doesn't support things like dropshadows, RGBA, or rounded corners, but somehow it always manages to have placement issues, when Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari are all fine. That's my qualm with it. IE9 really isn't bad and I actually really like the design of it.

Okay thanks Jube. I haven't really had any bad experiences like that. i have only ever had YouTube problems. Just because it didn't have some features doesn't make it too bad. I mean I had never heard of add ons for web browsers until FF. still don't know what they quite for beside blocking ads...I think.

Add ons make browsing quicker, efficient and even add helpful overlays to outdated sites without the site having to go through a total overhaul.
If a company like Microsoft can't afford to meet the standard that other smaller companies have been implementing into their browsers.
There's a big problem in their business ethic.
