358/2 Days How do you pronounce Xion?

I think it's ZEE-on or Zee-ON, though, I've been using Zee-ON. They only reason the trailers uses SHEE-on is because Japanese doesn't have a Zi sound, and Ji, the Zi if Shi were Si, doesn't really sound like Zi, so they use Shi.

 

After all of the ways I've heard it pronounced, I'm not really sure. I've been pronouncing it ZEE-on, since before I saw the trailer. Mostly because I thought of the same thing Faded did. Xemnas=Zemnas, and so on. And when I did see it, and heard Namine say her name, it sounded that way to me, so I figured I was right.

But other people have been saying that they heard She-on, and everybody I've asked off the internet say Z-eye-on when I spell it.

So I'm just really confused. But until I learn otherwise, I'll probably just keep saying ZEE-on, because that just sounds right to me...

 

What about Zexion? his name has XI in it and in Japanese it's said like Zex-E-on and in English it's Zex-E-un

But anyways I think Xion would be pronounce as Shii-on

 

I've been saying Shy-on, could be Shee-on, and with our luck as far as Marluxia's name came out in Re:CoM it could be Zay-on or Shay-un or something rediculous.

 

Marluxia's name taught me not to try. when i hear the name officially said in english i'll stick with that.

 

I agree with this pronunciation. I think Xion is pronounced SHEon.

 

I agree with him. I always heard it from the beginning as z eye on

 

I thought it was Zee-on. But whatever, I can get used to SHE-on

I've just got thinking about something.
Xions name has been pronounced many ways, I know. But think of it this way.
Its spelled X-I-O-N. Now look at Zexion's name. Z-E-X-I-O-N.
His name is pronounced like Zex-E-on. And if you take away the Z-E, your left with Xion.
So, maybe it really is pronounced ZEE-on.
This theory could also be completely wrong, I just happened to notice this while looking at Zexion's name.

(Forgive me for the poor, almost hyper explaination. I shouldn't have mixed Sweet tea with sea-salt ice cream ^^;;; )

 

Well, from looking at it, it might be pronounced "Zee-on". Like from the instrument, Xylophone is pronounced with X having the Z sound.

 

You gotta take into account the fact that the Japanese language doesn't have the 'si' sound, nor does it have the 'zi' sound. In Japan, Zexion is pronounced 'Zekushion', Marluxia is pronounced 'Marusha', and Xigbar is pronounced 'Shigubaru', but that doesn't mean the English translation should replace what was intended to be a 'si' with a 'shi' because that's the way the Japanese do it. -.-;

I pronounce it Zaion, just because I like the way it sounds, but it's probably ZEE-on.

 

Hmmm... thats a cool thing to know. So, Zee-on = Xion. Really, i think it should've been spelled Zion, bu, square chix made it, not me! :D pronouncing words in english and changing them into japanese is complicated.

 

She's in the organization, remember? Gotta have the X. It's a requirement.
