    From experience, I can say getting rep is easier if you are funny when needed, make good posts, and use proper grammar (so many de-reps for me back then). But I can also say that rep isn't that important. It's just a way for people to judge if you're a good and likable person or not.

    But that's just me.

    Rep really only determines if you're popular, or have been in the past. There's really nothing else it signifies.
