I got into Kingdom Hearts from the commercials they used to play. Then I found out that my cousin had the game, but finished it and never played it after that, so he said I could have it. So he gave me the disc, but not the case -__- That's when I first played Kingdom Hearts One. I never knew about Final Fantasy so some of the Final Fantasy characters...well, I thought they were just ment for that one game. I didn't know FF had their own games and some of the characters were just included in Kingdom Hearts. Not only that, but it surprised me that there were Disney Characters in this game too. At first I was like "Holy Crap!! Donald and Goofy?! What are they doing here!!?" even though I saw the commericial for the game. It took me a while to get used to the controls and whatnot, but I made it to the end. I could not beat Possessed Riku and it took me a year just to beat him in Hollow Bastion. Then when I fought Ansem, it took me two years to beat him, by then Kingdom Hearts 2 had already came out and I got it when it was first announced. I started playing KH2 but still haven't beaten Ansem. I think I beat Ansem around the same time I was in Radiant Garden in Kingdom Hearts 2. I cried when I beat Ansem lol then I beat KH2 months after that.
Then I found out there were videos about the game, GMV's, fandubs, even a series called Kingdom Hearts Stupid Files (those were Hilarious) Then I found kh-vids thanks to one of the GMV's I was watching and that's when I started making my own GMV's, characters, keyblades and all that stuff. Yeah, me and KH got a long history XD

Which Games Have You Played and How Did You Come in Contact with the Series?

There doesn't seem to be a general section, so I thought this would be most appropriate.

I first got into Kingdom Hearts from watching one my friends here play the first game, and I've loved it ever since. I also actually ended up getting Kingdom Hearts II way before my friend did, and when I called him one day to ask him if he wanted to hang out (I think it was to spend the night), he heard it and couldn't figure out what it was. He knew it was Kingdom Hearts, but didn't recognize it. He then discovered I got it when he came.

Anyway, so. yeah, I started with Kingdom Hearts, then Kingdom Hearts II, then Chain of Memories, then Re:Chain of Memories. What about you guys?

Edit: I forgot, I also have Birth by Sleep, but I haven't played it since getting stuck at that Xigbar lookalike boss.

I found out about the first Kingdom Hearts because my brother was playing it. I basically found out about all the games I enjoy today from watching him play stuff. After that I just kept seeing the commercial for the second game and got it for my birthday that year. I actually found out about Chain of memories a lot later. I never even knew there was a GBA Kingdom Hearts until I saw it. I never bought it though. But after that I've kept up with every kingdom hearts game to this date

You said you didn't buy Chain of Memories, but what about Re:Chain of Memories? Have you bought and / or played it?

I first saw KH II on an advert and begged for it, I lose interest for about a month after getting the game, though. I found my sister playing it one day and got hooked again. I then got KH I and completed it etc. I've loved the series ever since.

I've played KH I, KH COM, KH II, KH 358/2 and KH Re:coded.

You know, a thread similar to this already exists.

It was the Christmas of 2006. I woke up around five in the morning, as children do on Christmas morning, and I started sneaking about to try and figure out what was under the tree this year. As always, I got caught and got stuck sitting in my room for hours until my mom woke up and let me open my gifts.

One of those gifts was a brand new PS2 slim, as I had never owned a Sony console of any kind before that. I opened the next box, which had three games for my new console, and one of them was the original KH. I assume that my mom saw the word Disney on the cover and got it for me because she thought it would be mindless, kid-friendly entertainment. After playing DDR Supernova for like two hours (or until I could hardly breathe), I popped KH in the PS2 and was mesmerized by the opening FMV and spiky-haired protagonist.

After two days of playing, I got to the third day on Destiny Islands and, not being able to see an inch in front of me, we went to Best Buy, where I picked up the second entry in the series (which was new at the time) and quickly started playing that instead.

I beat KH2 long before I ever touched the original again, but I eventually got to beating it as well. Ever since then, I've been a hopeless fangirl.

I came into contact with the series by pure luck really. My mother just so happened to pick up KH II for me in a super market and I've loved the series ever since.
Moving on from KH II, I went backwards to KH I, then to Days and then BBS. I never played Coded or Chain of Memories, but it doesn't really bother me.

I vaguely remember watching a friend play KH 1 years ago, and ironically at the time I thought it to be stupid :p

yeah, I bought Re:CoM, but only because it was for PS2. As I said, I've kept up with every game so far. Even if I haven't played them, I've either looked up stuff about the story and everything else, or just watched walkthroughs on youtube

Saw a trailer for the game on one of the ol' PS2 demo discs (remember those?) Decided I must play it, but my parents would never buy me it. Some years later, a friend let me borrow it, and when it came out, the second game. After some more years, I had returned them, but I decided I must own them, so I started trading games on Goozex (cool site), and I finally owned Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II.

I've played, and beaten, Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts RE:Chain of Memories. Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

I could've sworn answering this already...
Anywho, I discovered the series around 2004 where I saw the game at my local gaming store.
I saw Disney mixed with Final Fantasy and thought; "MUST HAVE."
For they had fused 2 things that I love in this world.

I started off borrowing KH2 from a friend. (The Story with Roxas really had me confused)
I stopped halfway through to get The original so I could understand the story better. (Which is now my favorite from the series)
By this time I had a DS lite, So I picked up Chain of memories for the GBA.
So being all caught up I played KH2 once again. (Though I don't know why they repeated Atlantica...)
After that I got hooked into playing all the games from the series.
I bought a PSP on sale for the purpose of Birth by Sleep (And a few other games)
I played 358/2 Days and Coded on my DS.
Now all that' left is to play KH3D. And for that I need a 3DS. How I weep for my savings...

Saw this on TV, and instantly knew that I wanted it. Music got me pumped, even as girly as it was, and all the colorful images popping up everywhere timed to the music so well that it was just great. Not to mention, EVERYONE at school was talking about it. It was THE game of 2002.

I was wondering at a game's store by 2006 (i guess) and I saw the cover of Kingdom Hearts II, and at first glance I saw DONALD my favorit classic disney character.. and I hoped that I could play with him.. sometime later I got the game (yes I started in KH 2) played it all and became in love for life.. even though is better storywise to start with KH I, I don't regret start in II, because the gameplay is much better in this one... maybe I would not be so in love if I started with the first one (Just remembering the islands makes me want to puke!). Then I got the first, Re:chain of memories and I downloaded all the nintendo ds games and finally got to play Birth By sleep this year (a friend lend his psp!).

I first came in contact with series when I went to my friend's house. I spotted a game called "Kingdom Hearts II" on the floor and I asked if I could try it out. My friend let me, and on that day forward, I was hooked on the Kingdom Hearts franchise, ever since.

First I watched my brother playing Kingdom Hearts when I was little. I love it and started to play. Couldn't finish it at the first time, then I played it again some years later. Finished it! Then I played Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. Finished it! Then Kingdom Hearts II. F-i-n-i-s-h-e-d i-t! 8D

But this wasn't when I really get in contact with the series. When I found out that my best friend, Lexibrag, loved it; we both get sickfullnessly addicted.
    ...jk...

    But that's the story.~
