How come all the organization members have an "X" in their name?

 

It is the way they are recognized as organization members. :/ Btw, this should go in KH2, not AE. lol

1. not everybody has a "X" in their name

2. probably cuz they were from the same world

3. cuz they felt like it

4. maybe it has something to do with nobodys..............

The "X" in their names symbolize their brotherhood as Nobodies. Their names are also scrambled up to emphasize that they're not who they used to be, I think.

And like Darkwatch said, this should be in KH2...

I always thought it was because of Xheanort being the leader. Hence,the x in their names.

Oh, that's a good theory too! Hmm...

 

Jiminies Journal clearly states, "Organization XIII has something in common with thier names to simbolize thier association with the Organization." or something like that.

So the X is there to show thier loyaltyo to Xemnas. Also, Xemnas is a scrambled version of Ansem, with an X.

Another little easter egg... Xehanort is actually No Heart scrambled with an X.

 

1. Yes all of the Org members have an X in their name. The only person affiliated with the Org who did not was Namine and that is because she was a prisoner of the Org, not a member.

2. The Xs seem more likely to be because of Xemnas and possibly his alternate name of Xehanort. Xehanort is an anagram of 'No Heart'. I think it might be due to this reason more than where the people came from.

All of the Nobodies had names prior and the X is just tossed in to a letter jumbled name they formerly had to give them a new identity as members of the Organization. They have memories of their former lives (except Roxas) but they are changed beings, reborn into the state they are so having been changed, new names were necessary. It is also probably a way Xemnas keeps things 'orderly' and ties people into the Org better. People often change their names or go by some nickname in groups when they don't want to use their real names. It provides more cohesion and a show of separate identity and loyalty to the group. Of course the last 2 things here are guesses, but it's the closest I can figure out.

Just a quick note, Xehanort is not anly an anagram of "no heart" with an x, it can also be "another" with an x added... while "no heart" sounds more like something, as far as im aware we see him entering "another" as a password somewhere in the new sequences in final mix+, along with the former names of the other apparentices. This might even mean that "another" was somewhat his orginal name (given xehanort is anagram +x, the same way names are converted for the XIII), though we propably wont find out before KHIII
