Allow me to introduce you to the entertainment industry

 

I'm quite familiar with the industry doing this, but for some reason I had to actually explain why it's such a bad idea...

 

Not saying I disagree with you. I just wanted to point out that the practice is extremely and obviously commonplace and while it is a reason to not make a sequel, I personally don't see it as a necessary reason to not make it. It's how bad sequels are made, yeah, but some good ones come out when they shouldn't have been made. Other good ones explore other aspects of the universe or different times, etc. while leaving the previous storylines alone.

 

Oh, I'm not at all saying there aren't times that sequels can be good or even great...just don't freaking continue Up.

I never needed you to explain that. I needed you to explain the least bad way to execute that bad idea. And then, after having to reread the question several times before understanding it, both you and hatok did.

 

The issue is you're operating under the assumption that I was answering your question, not saying that telling Carl and Elly's story was a terrible idea period

i just cant wait to see what pixar does with their superhero franchise considering everything that has happened with superhero movies since 2004.

 

Oh man, I wasn't even thinking about it from that angle. That's gonna be really interesting to see, probably more on repeat watchings though

Back in 2004 it was a nod to the then-recent explosion of superhero movies, but even that's nothing compared to what we've got going now, and I'm so curious on how this will tie into everything including the characters. Incredibles was always one of Pixar's best and I really hope this is just as good, similar to how MU was just as good (maybe even better) than MI. im excited just thinking about it

 

Word it better next time. Something like "Even though continuing Up is a course of action that isn't advisable, if it HAD to happen, should it be a sequel or prequel, and what would that better continuation have?"

 

Am I the only one who actually understood what KS meant?

 

And more importantly, are you the only one who caught the "Up 2 no good" joke that I shoehorned into the first few posts of the argument I started?
