No Thanks How about a Humor/Satire Section?

I've been noticing that in the Spam Zone quite a few jokes can get out of hand, so what about a section specifically for serious humor? Might seem strange at first, but this way we can joke around about certain things without it all going to Hell like it usually does in the Spam Zone. Specifically I'd like a place for political and other serious jokes that just seem out of place in the Spam Zone.

Explain to me how humor = serious?

 

He means like Satire like "Mock the Week" (a british tv show), where comedians/comediennes, make fun of the week's news stories in a sort of "Who's Line is it Anyway?" free-for-all. I don't think it really needs its own section though. Surely a thread would suffice.

 

I don't think this is necessaray; again we are a KH site, not a humor-centered site. Also why we don't have a cooking section, or any other really specific thing.
If a joke gets out of hand, that's why staff members are around.
And to be honest we have a lot of sections as is, we really don't need another.

 

I guess that's true. I'd still like to this happen though. It could even be a subforum of the Spam Zone for more serious but not quite post count worthy humor could go.

 

Again, I really don't see the point of it. The Spam Zone is for anything that's not serious, from jokes to random videos. A new subsection JUST for jokes isn't necessary.

 

Okay fair enough. Feel free to close this thread if you want, but I'd still like some more discussion on it.

 

If you want to make a thread about stuff like that, e.g. a Mock The Week or Who's Line Is It Anyway (Which is also of English origin btw :lolface:) game then that should be suitable enough.

 

I would have to agree with others that in the immediate at least, a sub-section for jokes seems a bit much. There will soon be a new section where a thread can be made to post jokes and such, where clutter won't be such a problem. If people want it to expand later and it goes well, we'll see on a sub-section for it, but I think we really need to see how it works out with the thread first.

 

You can always use the competitive zone for seeing who has the best jokes, and whatnot.

People have used the Creativity Zone for jokes as well.

I dont see this working out very well to be honest. People dont come to khv to be funny, they come to try to be funny and when they are funny its usually through things that aren't their own work (youtube videos, pics, etc.) Its not that thats bad, it just doesnt merit a section being created. The spamzone works just as fine.

 

I like the idea of having a thread for it, I think it would work well. Just for sharing jokes on current issues and such.

Alright, how about I make a sticked thread? We'll see how it goes from there, but don't expect a whole section anytime soon.
