I liked the idea of Homefront, but not the way it was executed through its cut-and-paste military shooter. I really hope Homefront: Revolution puts something unique to it since DS is now in charge of a different company.
Interests: Crytek UK, at one point the people who made TimeSplitters and Haze Turn offs: HEY IT'S ALL OPEN WORLD LIKE TEH BORDERLANDS Seriously... does every game need to be open world? I don't suppose that people remember that Half-Life 2 is linear...
I don't think it's their fault. Gamers are getting tired of the standard military shooters. It needs something new or at least a different take to the genre. Sure open-world may be overused, but I think it's a much better choice than a linear shooter.
It really sucks to see the guys behind Timesplitters go out with such a whimper. Hopefully we'll see a spiritual successor to Free Radical some day.
