I actually like it =P hmm, the image is a bit too small. and it should blend in a bit more. The background is very nice! I like it a lot.
...I strongy dislike it. D; It has virtually no flow, a very wierd looking light source, and and ugly green. D; Add some C4Ds to help the flow and a gradient map or photo filter to take away the green.

The light source doesn't work at all - the shine is just way too simple. You should try giving more effects to it (how, I don't know, but play around with the circle shine thing much more than you have done so far) - just to make it more alive instead of too basic. I personally don't mind the colour theme, green looks VERY good with red, and I saw some red on that character. But the background effect is a little too confusing, it's like some thick goo has been exploded somewhere below out of the sig, ready to cover him up. What did you want it to show? What mood are your trying to show, and how can you create it in the background? That's what you should keep in mind when working on something like a signature. Judging by the character you should make a bg that shows drama, but not overflowed with it. ( I'm sorry if that doesn't make sense.. >>;; ) Play around some more with PS to get into the flow, maybe you're just a little rusty in the start? Happens to the best, I asure you.
Also, add a motion blur and put it on a light opacity to increase flow, I know, I know kinda late, but I've been thinking. xD
