Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Recognizing the tone of Dee's voice, Maria winced:
"Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to bring up any touchy subject... Your father's a wizard, right? What House was he in? That sometimes gives a hint of what House you're going to be in too. But that isn't always the case, my own mother was a Slytherin, but her older brother was a Hufflepuff. Then I have two older cousins who were in Gryffindor, one of the same age as me in Hufflepuff, and one a year younger than me is a fellow Ravenclaw."
She gave the owl yet another look, this time scrutinizing it.
"Hmmm, I think there's a line of sunglasses called Xephyr... He seems quite fiesty, how about Ares or Mars. Greek and Roman gods of war."
She reached over at her cage, and stroked Amylia with her index finger, receiving an affectionate nip from the owl.
"Yes, owls can be very territorial, this silly girl wouldn't let me tie a letter on her for about two, three months..."

 

"My Dad was a Slytherin..." Dee replied. "So was my Mum as far as I know."

 

"Really? That's interesting, you don't seem like a typical Slytherin..."
She turned to the newcomer, and smiled in what she hoped to be a calming way:
"I doubt anyone has a problem with that, but I'd suggest that us girls stepped out of the compartment for a little while, we should change in to our robes now. I think we're close to Hogwarts, it's nearly pitch dark outside."

 

"Yeah... I don't think I seem like a typical Slytherin either." Dee sighed. "And yeah, that'd be a good idea. We need to change into out uniforms." She nodded.

 

"Don't tell me, your father's one of those 'must keep the blood pure' guys, is he," Maria said, wrinkling her nose, until she realized what she said.
"Ugh, sorry, I didn't want to be rude..."
She got on her feet quickly, rummaged through her trunk quickly, grabbing her skirt, blouse and robes from the very bottom. She smiled again at the new girl, and asked:
"Care to join us? There's a bathroom about 30 feet down, but the locks broken, someone should stand guard while the others change. I'm Maria by the way, who are you?"

 

"Jaymes"she said smiling

 

"Unfortunately he is." Dee replied in an ashamed voice. "If he knew I was talking to people outside of Slytherin..." She continued slightly before snapping out of her daze, she looked up at the new arrival and grinned cheerfully as she picked up her rucksack, that appeared to contain all her worldly possessions that consisted of her school clothes, a couple of scruffy looking dresses and her books. "I'm Dee by the way."

 

"Nice to meet you."

 

"Oh that sounds terrible... My mom could be a bit stuck up sometimes, and she's always so proud, but at least she didn't have a problem with people in different Houses, or Muggle-born wizards..." she chuckled a bit, "Heck, she even married a Muggle! But my parents weren't married for too long, they split up when I was four..."
Leaving the compartment, she looked back.
"So, you coming with us, Jaymes? That's quite an interesting name, especially for a girl..."

 

"sure i'll come."Jaymes said"yeah...my parents wanted a boy...though gran says mum said Jaymes was a girl's name too..."she said

 

"My Dad just hates everyone who doesn't agree with him one-hundred per-cent of the time, who isn't one-hundred per-cent Slytherin material and who isn't nearly one-hundred per-cent pureblood." She explain as she slung the bag over her shoulder and jumped out into the carriage corridor.

 

"Interesting, I've never met a girl named Jaymes before..."
Turning to Dee, she let a sly smile come to her lips:
"Well, I'd just love to meet your father, what with my ability to find an argument about everything, and half-wizard, half-Muggle family..."
She opened the door to the bathroom:
"Who wants to go first?"

 

"im not bothered really...one of you two go first...since i came last."

 

"I'll go first." Dee said. "I won't take long." She added as she stepped into the cubicle. "And you really wouldn't want to meet Father... Believe me. You wouldn't..." After saying that she closed the door and proceeded to get changed.

 

Maria leaned on the door:
"Warn me before you come out!"
She addressed Jaymes next, "You go after her, I'm pretty quick at changing, and I don't have a boat-ride to catch, like the two of you... You're a first-year, right?"
She called through the door to Dee, "Don't worry, I have my way with people that don't like me, and I can defend myself pretty darn well... My dad says I should become a lawyer, or the wizard-version of that..."

 

she nodded"yeah im a first year."

 

"It's not you I'm worried about..." Dee muttered quietly to herself as she finished tucking her school shirt into her skirt and pulled the jumper on over her head. "Is it true there's a giant squid in the lake?" She asked in a louder voice, sounding rather worried.

 

"Man, I'm going to check out those girls, I hope the boys bathroom is right next to the girls!"
Zack said, grinning, as he ran of with his robes. Finally, he arrived, to the boys bathroom, which was right next to the girls,
"I was right!"
He said, walking past the girls. He got changed in to his trousers, shirt, plain black tie with hogwarts sign, grey jumper, and his robes.
"Is there anything else we have to remember?"
He said, still figuring out how to tie his robe up. He then heard Dee talk
"Yes, apparently, my brother said he saw it.."
Zack said, his robe still un-tied.

 

"It is true, but the squid is harmless, and it usually doesn't come out until late-May, it doesn't like the cool air..."

 

"oh thats so cool!"Jaymes said
