Hogwarts New Stories: Third Year

Conni felt as though she'd just witnessed something she really shouldn't of as a single tear fell down her face. That's just...wow. I hope... I hope I never have that feeling. Blaming yourself for someone's death... Even when there was nothing you could of done...

 

"I probably couldn't do anything to prevent her death, anyway." Kai pulled herself away from her brother. "But, I miss her horribly."

"It's okay to miss someone you held so close," Rox said.

 

I should really leave... Conni thought with a sigh before starting to walk back down the corridor.

 

"I need to talk with Sephiroth about something," Kai said, walking past her brother.

Once she had left the room, Rox sighed and said, "Remember: 'Dilly-dally shilly-shally', Kai."

 

Conni brushed her white blonde fringe out of her eyes as she sat down at the feet of a suit of armour, holding her aching head in her hands. The strain of trying to listen into the convosation had made her hang-over much, much worse.

 

Kai sighed, telling her brother about the only friend she had before she met Lily and Conni made her feel like throwing up. She hummed the song that she and Kaina used to sing as she past Conni on her way to Sephiroth.

 

"Urgh... Why today of all days does this entire castle have to raise it's voice three decibles..." Conni moaned as Kai approached.

 

Kai just chuckled as she heard Conni, she turned to her. "Geez, Conni, you look like hell."

 

"Feel like it too..." Conni groaned "Got the hang-over from hell."

 

Kai smiled and sat down beside her. 'Sephiroth can come and get me on his own,' she thought. Turning to Conni, she asked, "Did you hear what Rox and I were talking about?"

 

"Yeah, I did... Sorry." She cringed "If it makes you feel any better I made my headache worse by listening in."

 

"It's alright," Kai said. "I was planning on telling you guys, anyway. Besides, I'm still getting used to the fact that......" She sighed, closing her eyes.

 

"I know... Adjusting is difficult... But, you've gotten over the worst of it remarkabley well. Better then I could ever of."

 

"Yeah, I still get kinda nervous around Lily, because Kaina and Lily would be twins if she was here." Kai smiled. "I had go through a lot of crap."

 

"God... As much as I love Lily I don't think I could handle two." She shuddered jokingly "And yeah, crap is tough sh*t to get through. But as long as you don't handle it like I do, ie slicing yourself up, you should come through easily."

 

"I just hope I find the man that killed her and kill him myself, fulfilling my vow to her." Kai sighed.

 

"But, wouldn't killing him drag you down to his level?"

 

"You're right, Conni." Kai sighed, as she stared at her bracelet. "Not even going into my angel self would help."

 

"There are times Kai when, as painful as it is. It's better to just let stuff go. After a point, it does nothing but drag you, and the ones you care about most, down."

 

"I know, but I find it hard to let go of so much," Kai said. "But you and Rox are right, I have to let go." She stood up. "I better go, Sephiroth's probably wondering where I'm right now. I'll see you later." She ran off.
