Mickey shrugged through lower branches,he could smell her now,

 

"Everything will be fine..."

Lake lifted her head up and sniffed the air. He was coming to find her, quickly she rose up onto her feet and picked up the bag in her large jaws.

 

"Yes...ofcourse it will."

He came into veiw,and stared at her,then jerked his head towards the way he came,whining

 

Immy nodded.

The golden wolf shook her head and placed her bag back down on the floor. Once the bag was down she heavily and deliberately sat down again and turned her head to one side and directed her long snout upwards.

 

His head turned to the side,looking confused,then a huff escaped him,and he pulled himself together once more,Mickey shivered slightly in his tattered shorts"Lake? whats up?

 

Lake took the opportunity of Mickey being in his human form to grab the bag and run off again as fast as she could. Now, Lake wasn't the strongest of wolves by any means, but she was fast when she wanted to be. Really fast.

 

"What the-Lake!"he said changing again,chasing after her

 

Lake continued to run as fast as she could, jumping over a large log. She continued to run until she came to a fast running river where she skidded to a halt. Quickly she chucked the bag across it and took a few steps backwards before running towards it again in an attempt to clear it.

 

He stopped at the river,

 

Lake managed to clear about half the river before losing her altitude and tumbling down into the water. The strong under current mixed with her light build was not a good combination, as soon as she hit the water she was swept down stream.

 

"Your kidding me... he sprinted down,trying find away to get to her and get her out safely

 

There was a panicked yelp from Lake as she struggled to fight against the torrent.

 

f*ck it. he splashed into the raging water,his big build making it somewhat easier for him

 

Lake howled loudly as she was slammed into a sharp rock just under the water. She could feel the warm blood escaping her and mingling with the icy cold running water.

 

He changed back into his human form"Lake! change back! I got you!"

 

Lake shook her head weakly. To avoid ruining her clothes she'd taken them off before changing, and they were in the bag upstream and on the opposite side of the river. She wasn't sure why, but keeping her dignity was somehow being pushed more forward then keeping her life.

 

"Fine."he siad changing back,he very gently got ahold of the extra fur at the back of her neck,the way a mother cat would lift her kitten and tried to swim back slowly

 

Lake winced slightly as his teeth grabbed hold of her. She felt herself being dragged as the world swayed around her. The colour draining from the edges of her vision.

 

He managed to back to the bank of the river,dragging her behind him,he changed back,coughing and shvering"Lake?"

 

Lake collapsed onto the floor, bleeding from her stomach where the razor sharp rocks had cut her and struggling to breath with all the water in her lungs.
