"He loved her enough to let her go..."Mickey said

 

"You deserve so much better then him..."

"That's bullsh*t..." Lake muttered, her usually sweet voice sounding bitter. "There's no such thing as 'loving enough to let go'... You either want to stay with them or you want to leave them and if you truly love them you shouldn't ever leave them..."

 

"Cant get better than him"she mumbled into her fathers chest

"I'd do the same....Im going to do the same with Jazmin....Im telling her its over."

 

"You can... And you will..."

Lake sighed and looked away, her hand dropping away from his.

 

she shook her head

"what?"

"Oh Maddie...time heals all wounds and when its healed you'll move on."

 

"It's nothing..." Lake mumbled. "I'm gonna finish getting dressed..." She added before disappearing upstairs.

"Please Maddie, it's true."

 

he looked after her,then turned back to his sister

"My fault....if I wasnt human...."

 

"Don't be stupid Maddie, this isn't your fault."

 

she sniffled,

 

"Maybe you should sit down Madds..." Casey sighed, trying to steer his daughter towards the comfort of the sofa.

 

She sat,wiping her eyes,shaking with sobs"I knew something bad was gonna happen....I knew it..."

 

"It seems bad right now, but I'm sure later on you'll look back and think it was a good thing..." Casey sighed, putting his arm around her shoulder again as he sat down besides her.

 

she shook her head"you think I will...but I wont....when I was hurt....by James,that vampire he saved me from....he promised ,never to leave....never to hurt me....but this hurts more than getting my leg broken,or my hand being bitten....he broke his promise dad..."

 

"I'm sorry to say this Maddie, but most guys do that at some point in time... Make a promise never to leave then sometime later, be in a week or a decade later..."

In the background Lake made her way down the stairs again and headed towards the door. She was carrying her bag, slung casually over her left shoulder.

 

"You didnt..."


He turned,hearing her come down"where are you going?"

 

"Yeah, but I'm not exactly the 'bad boy' type, am I?" he chuckled weakly.

"Out..." She muttered, opening the door.

 

she shook her head


"where?"

 

"You'll be fine sweetie, it could of been a lot worse..." Casey sighed.

"Just out..." Lake muttered again, going out of the door.

 

"How?"


He sighed

 

"You could be pregnant, he could of decided this in a couple more years, once you were married or you could actually of been eaten by the boy and his family. This really isn't worst case scenario, it's bad, just not the worst."

Lake wandered down the garden towards the woodlands that lurked behind.
