Okay. At school i'm an outsider..... Hardly anyone likes me.... And its because I like anime/manga/foriegn music..... They all think that anime is just porn and sex. I always try to prove them wrong but with such a big number of them..... I have no chance against them..... And with manga, if i'm caught reading one then they'll snatch the book off me and tilt it upside-down, saying "How the hell do you read THIS you FREAK?!" Or they'll point and shout "OMG, RHIANNON'S READING A PORN BOOK!!!!!" And with foreign music, people keep on asking "Watcha listening to? Is it that manga?" And then they burst out laughing.... And some people put thier hands on their hips and sing "Caramell~ Caramell~ Caramell and Fudge, OH! Caramell~!" Since I can't take it anymore, I've resorted to having a poker face in school.... I talk quiet and in monotone only when people talk to me..... Quite frankly I can only act like myself to my friends or at home.....

Ok, what the hell makes people associate Manga with Porn? Unless the people critisizing you have been looking at Hentai, then they are just the perverts they are making you out to be, and are making gross assumptions. Right, I hate to say this, but what you're doing with the monotone voice and quiet talking isn't really gonna help the situation. If people see you like that, then they can(and most likely will) assume you're embarrassed, or ashamed of your hobbies because of what people think it is, you see what I mean? If a lot of people around you "disagree" with your hobbies, then try and avoid it with them around. Make it a.. um, what's the word... I guess it's a "reclusive" hobby that would best describe it. Talk about it with friends, people you trust, or people who share your interests. Hell, we've got a dedicated board for the subject here! I find people who will take the piss out of other people hobbies absolutely reprehesible, so if they continue with all this, ignore them and move on. That makes it their time they're wasting, not yours. NEVER feel ashamed of your hobbies. It part of what makes you a unique person, so embrace it, and smile, yeah?

Oh Haru-chan... Honestly, those dip-shits don't know what there talking about. I bet you anything there the ones looking the porn up or they wouldn't have said anything to you. Don't be bothered by them, I know you hear this alot but it's for the best. I bet there are other people in your school going through the same thing. D: People like them make me sick. D: People are like that to me too. Not of that I like anime and manga, but of me being different. I really really hate people like that. But the only thing you can really do is just ignore them.

I would really just try to ignore them. You like what you like and there's nothing wrong with that at all. Seriously, people like that are just mean and overall not good people to be around. And besides, your true friends understand what you like and don't judge you, and you can't please everyone. There will always be people like that in life and you just have to learn to not let it both you.
If they can't accept your likes and dislikes then they're not worth having as friends. There's got to be other people that you can share your love with, but assuming a completely apathetic personality in school isn't going to help you meet people. Some people say it's easier to be a loner, but I completely disagree. I've never had many friends either because I am different from a lot of the people in my school, but the moment I realized that moping about it isn't going to help me is when I started making more friends. People react to a smile. Instead of going in to school frowning, go in being friendly and happy. No one wants to talk to a downer. The next time someone tells you that you must be reading/watching porn, make a nice remark like "you seem to have porn on the mind." Making yourself completely unapproachable is never going to help you.
I actually have this same problem. People make fun of me for playing golf. In some cases I can't even wear the sweatshirt to school. Just ignore them,stay with the people that make you happy and things you have in common with. You don't have to tell people that you like anime up front anyway,you can become friends with them first; because I'm pretty sure most people won't stop being friends with you because of an interest.
SHOW them what you prefer to Read/Watch in Anime/Manga. If it's not Porn or Hentai, they can't insult you. Because it's not the truth. If those idiots continue, you have two choices. Ignore them as Kites mentioned, or stand up and carve into their skulls that Anime and Manga are NOT porn or hentai. Depending on what you're reading of course. Kabooki has one of the best suggestions. It's better to ignore them or start getting on them. It depends on how you feel about it right at that moment.
Obviously, you have issues. There is nothing wrong with something you like. It's how the people look at it. They think it's a freak thing to like anime/manga. I'm hated at my school for that as well (we have an anime club.) If they taunt you of what you love, they are freaks. They have no say in this. Only you can decide whether you accept their saying or your own.
My advice-Cast away all emotions.Since you've established the permaneant poker face try scaring them with the above suggestion Good advice-Dont hurt them like shadow is suggesting.Keep extra music players so you can relieve your stress with your favorite music. They'll lose interest eventually everyone does in something.
... i hope you don't be come a psychologist... ignoring stuff ppl say to me is what i do. But another thing is to try and not make them make fun of me. I make friends from different groups. Cool, sports, black, ppl who make fun of sex, etc. makes me look like i'm into all sorts of things. they kinda see me similar to them. Anyway don't try and stay hidden.
ZOMG! That happens to MEE! Would you believe i am the only gil in my entire school who has heard of Kingdom Hearts/Final Fantasy/Anime??? I get that all the time. All you can really do is ignore them. I try to hide it, and just listen to my friends obsess over The Jonas Brothers and Twilight and Zac Efron!!! I once tried to sit with all the boys (who by the way, are more into anime and manga than I am) but because my school is soo damn opinionated, I HAVE TO stay sitting with these girls who really dont know who I am. Now, if you took the time to read that, congrats. Bottom line, if its bothering you that much, just ignore them.
They're all just some mean *******. Who cares if you like manga and anime? That's what you like, not what they like. It's none of their business anyway. If they can't accept you for who you are, then they're no good people. I used to be a REAL loner. How did I solve this? I made myself socialize. I found people I liked, and people I didn't like. Hang out with those who support you and have similar interests. If those people come and bother you again, just say hi, and bye, (or don't say anything) and leave. It worked when this girl came up to me, only to start bothering me. Hope this helps! ^.^
