i have to say it depends on the situation.

I mean, yes I would agree - it is pretty normal for a person to feel that way. But other times, you just don't feel that way. It really depends for me.
Though if one would ask, I guess I'd say yes.

    I kind of agree :/
I mean, your friends are almost certainly your rivals in a way too, so when they succeed at something you failed at, the green monster inside of you is hurt :v
So it kind of feels that a little part of you could have died.

    My explaining sucks, amirite?

    yeah that's right.
if u were trying for the same thing, and they got it first, then it sucks.

but if u didn't care in the least and it was not a huge accomplishment then i don't think people care as much.

It depends, if we were going for the same goal, then yes.
But if we were not, then no.

Well if it made a HORRIBLE chamnge of life for a friend then of course I do. But still if a friend passes a test you'd give em a high 5 not just say "Screw you. You accomplished something now go away." That is unfair. However if they commited suicide you'd attend their funeral saying "Good god dude. Why? What EVIL brought you to do this?"

I actually agree, though like everyone has said, it depends on the situation. Like if you're in a group of friends who likes the same girl, and one of your friends gets to her first, then yeah.

    But that might be because I'm just a competetive guy. >>;

i would think no because if you were friends, you would be happy for your friends unless their success in someway causes an inconvenience for you.

The success of a friend can quite easily become the poison in your relationship with them. Like it or not, if they are consistently achieving higher than you then you will end up resenting them, if only subconsciously. Before you know it, you can't stand being around them when they achieve because it just hurts so much.

So yes I agree, but it does depend on the type of success that your friend is having.

This thing is obviously talking about jealousy. As someone earlier said, if your friend succeeds at something YOU failed at, you would get a little jealous, wouldn't you???

It depends. I can't really put to words the reason why, but it just does.

All in all though, I say yes. I can't stand second place to anyone in the vast majority of situations.

What I meant was that he should be happy for his friend. Sorry, what I posted before came out wrong.

    Ohh. Okay x3.

Well, one can be happy for their friend and jealous at the same time, right? I mean, like, I'm happy that my friends have good grades, but it still kills me that my grades aren't better than theirs, for example.

I would be happy for may friends because of their success, but I understand what you're talking about.
