"Certainly. I know what Jules is having. She's a creature of habit."

Jules blushed. "Sorry about dad, he loves to tease me. It's a shame that Christian, Nicole and Roku didn't come."

 

"Yeah, it is a shame." he said. He held her hand under the table.

 

Jules held his hand. She wanted him to feel at home. It was obvious that despite the shaky start her mum liked him. Jules was glad that she was at last settling into the area.

 

Clint looked at her and smiled. He really wanted to kiss her, but didn't feel comfortable doing it in front of her parents. He grabbed some chicken and veggies and put them on his plate.

 

Jules grinned slyly. She reached across as if to get one of the dishes of vegetables and 'accidentally' kissed Clint.

She sat back down again. Her mum grinned but said nothing.

 

He started blushing, he hadn't expected that! He quickly looked over at her parents to see their reactions.

 

"It's ok. They were childhood sweethearts so they can hardly say anything. Mum saw anyway."

Jules blushed.

"Sorry if I embarrassed you."

 

"You didn't. I just didn't think it would be a good idea to kiss in front of them." he whispered, meaning her parents. "I thought they might get angry or something."

 

Nicole stood up from her seat and looked out the window and saw it was raining a small bit...
"Hmm..It better not rain hard or they'll get poured out," she said to herself....Nicole heard a door slam and her father and mother yelling...
"Oh no,' she said quietly...She opened her window and jumped into the oak tree...She hung off a branch 2 stories from the ground..She pulled herself up and looked back in her room..Her father had busted down the door and looked evily at her...She decided to jump down..She landed a bit off, but she was okay...She started to run down the block hoping to get someone's attention...

 

Christian looked up at the rain. He was sat in his car wondering where to go. He saw Nicole and waved to her. She seemed to be running from something. He unlocked the passenger side door.

"Jump in."

 

Nicole saw Christian...
"I can't...my dad is after me!" she yelled as she ran past him...She saw a small forrest beyond a fence...she jujmped the fence and ran into the forrest, hoping her father wouldn't follow her...

 

I see that Nicole is running by my house, so I run out of the house, exclaiming "Come in!"

 

"I can't! my dad is after me!" she yelled...She continued running through the forest..She looked back and saw her father jump the fence...
"God please help me," she said to herelf panicking..

 

"Get in the car" Christian yelled at her. "He can't run faster than this. I'll drive you to safety."

 

I see a man jumping the fence angrily. "SIR STOP!!!" I then yell for my bodyguard to come out and stop him. The bodyguard had a rather deep voice, asking "What seems to be the problem sir? You do realize you are trespassing, don't you?"

 

Nicole kept running....She didn't care how far away she was...she just wanted to get away from her father...

 

Clint started eating the food in front of him.

 

Jules ate hungrily, all the time smiling. Her mum winked at her and offered Clint more food. Her dad began talking about motorbikes.

Jules couldn't help but wonder why Clint hadn't really mentioned much about his parents. She guessed he'd had a bad time. He had mentioned alcohol and she guessed that was something to do with it. She hoped her happy family wasn't upsetting him.

 

Clint started thinking about how great Jules' parents were treating him. He wished his parents had been more like them. A single tear rolled down his cheek and landed in his milk.

 

Jules saw the tear. "Are you ok" she whispered. She hated to see him upset. She gently held his hand.

"Do you want to talk after the meal somewhere quiet?"
