Clint caught up to Jules and asked "What's wrong Jules?"

 

"I should have left you in peace. I invaded your privacy. I'm so sorry. I won't do it again...."

 

"Don't be sorry." he said, looking down, "You were bound to see it sooner or later. It's not your fault."

 

Jules hugged Clint.

"I'm still sorry. How's your shoulder? "

She wondered how he had got such a terrible scar. He would tell her when he was ready. Jules had become even more determined to be there for this wonderful, cute guy.

 

"It's better." he said, hugging her back. "I know you want to ask me about it, so just ask."

 

"Ok, where did you get it? I was going to wait until you were ready to tell me as I didn't want to upset you. It's ok if you don't want to tell me. I'll understand."

 

He took a deep breath and said "Well, Nicole isn't the only one who had abusive parents."

 

Jules held him gently. She was lucky to have loving, caring parents. They supported her in whatever she wanted to do and would never hurt her. Clint needed her love as he had not been shown as much as she had.

 

He hugged her back and continued, saying "Both of my parents were alcoholics, and when they had a few too much, they attacked me. The scar happend a few years ago. I was eight, my dad had gotten drunk and started beating me. He grabbed me by my neck and threw me through a wall. When I got up, he took a hot fire poker and slashed my back with it. That is what made the scar."

 

"I'm so sorry. Such a terrible memory for you to suffer. Are you safe now? I will protect you in any way I can."

Jules kissed him, not wanting to let him go. He had been through so much.

 

He broke off the kiss and said "You don't need to worry, they both died about a year later. I've been living on my own ever since. Luckily, my parents had left a small fortune behind."

 

"You must be lonely though. You've had to deal with so much. You really are wonderful. I've never known anyone as caring and brave as you."

 

"I'm not lonely anymore," he said, smiling and blushing, "now that you're in my life."

 

"You are a big part of my life. I want to always be here for you. I may not have had the same background but I will be here when you want me. You're not alone anymore."

Jules looked into his eyes. She could stay there forever. She realised what she was doing, blushed and shuffled awkwardly.

BIC: "Thank you." he said, holding her close. He kissed her.

 

Christian: "Are you guys coming for a burger?"

Jules looked at Clint and smiled. "Whatever you want to do. I'm just happy to be with you."

 

"I'm happy being with you too." he said, smiling at her. His stomach growled.

 

Jules smiled. "Come on Clint. I'm buying you lunch. We are all hungry."

 

"Thanks." he said, blushing cause his stomach growled i front of Jules.

 

Why is he blushing she thought. Hasn't anyone bought him a burger before? Jules carried his bag and offered her shoulder for Clint to lean on.

"Burgers sound great. Everyone coming as well?"

Her stomach growled and she blushed. Perhaps it had happened to Clint? He was hungry and needed looking after and she was going to be the one to do it.
