High School Musical

I wanna see people's opinions on the music of High School Musical and High School Musical 2. List the songs you enjoyed or didn't enjoy from the movies and why. Or just shout out your opinion of all the songs.

Remember: We are here to talk about the music of the movie, not the movie itself.

I myself have never seen any of the HSM movies from start to finish, so I couldn't possibly decide between songs.

I didnt like either of the movies but i like the songs'I dont dance' and 'bet on it' from hsm2

 

I don't like them at all. I find them irritating.

 

Those 2 songs sound kool to me though. SCREW THE MOVIES!!!

 

What's High School Musical?

 

High School Musical and HSM2 are popular Disney Channel Original Movies. High School Musical 1's soundtrack was the best-selling album in the United States for 2006.

I am kinda impartial to the movies, yea some songs were catchy but eh...not really one for this. Which ever was the song in the cafeteria in the first one I found very catch. Other than that not much, the movies didn't pull that musical string in me that I usually in musicals I like.

 

Bah, it's a Disney Channel Movie. What do you expect?

They all have the same plot, really. I can name four right now that all involve these elements:

-A boy who is a star at a sport
-The boy wants to do something artsy
-The father, who also happens to be the coach, doesn't want the boy to
-The boy has to make a choice
-The boy is able to compromise and do both.

And the four movies are:
-Eddie's million dollar cook-off
-High School Musical
-Jump In!
-High School Musical 2

All disney channel movies have brothers who follow similar plot lines. This is only 1 family. I try not to watch too many of them. They're just boring.

disney channel is the worst. They have abotu 5 different movies of Highschool Musical, Jump In! and Highschool Musical 2

-Pop up movie
-Sing along movie
-Dance along movie
-normal movie

Cheetah Girls suck too xD

 

I think people are overly biased against the songs in these films because there are *real* people singing them.

If you break down the songs in their parts of melody, rhythm, catchiness, etc--they're 100% Disney in style and presentation and are not all that different from the songs that are sung in traditional Disney movies like Mulan, The Little Mermaid, etc.

Yet, people are so hesitant and afraid of breaking out into song with "Breaking Free" but sure don't mind busting out "I'll Make a Man out of You" from Mulan with a bunch of friends just for fun at any given moment?

The songs from High School Musical sustain the integrity of being truly Disney-esque, but it's such a bigger issue if actual people are singing them instead of having voices hidden behind a bunch of animated characters? Perhaps it's easier to view a real human singing a Disney song as 'teh gayz' as opposed to seeing an animated character (who isn't real) doing it.

Some of the songs are catchy and are fun to listen to, but I feel the same way about any other Disney song: They're fun to listen to every once in a while for the sake of having fun and being goofy, but I certainly wouldn't add them to my 'favourite songs of all time' list.

 

I am ashamed to say this but i have all their songs from the first movie on my iPod.
i did not watch HSM 2 cause it came out as soon as summer was over, and it took place when it starts. pretty stupid to me.

If I could send Disney some hate mail for the creation of that channel, I totally would. I honestly won't be surprised if EVERY main actor on High School Musical turned into a second Brittany Spears or Lindsay Lohan. But honestly, we couldn't be that lucky. I won't be complaining if they do. :3

I like near all of the songs...

They are all so catchy or fun to dance/sing along to (not that i do it, but if i do these things i would do it to HSM 1&2 songs)
