Welp, there goes my annual moment of being smooth. I hope I won't need another one until next year. That was exhausting.

 

This is without a doubt, the worst ploy I've ever read to trick a girl into getting her phone number. And the fact she fell for it I can only hope there is mercy upon her soul.

 

IT WAS THE ONLY PHONE NUMBER RELATED THING I COULD GET TO COME OUT OF MY MOUTH, OKAY? ALSO IT MADE SENSE BECAUSE WE WERE JUST ABOUT TO LEAVE WORK. AND I REALLY DID NEED THE REMINDER! DECEMBER IS MY WORST MONTH OF THE YEAR EXCEPT FOR CHRISTMAS WHICH IS OKAY.

Well excuuuuuuse me for getting nervous when I'm trying to talk to a pretty girl who has a lot in common with me and is just as bad at making conversation as I am in exactly the same ways.

This one guy from school asked me if I would critique his paper and asked for my phone number.


He never gave me the paper, and I never heard from him.


I don't know what to make of that.

 

This is my process.

"Excuse me miss, do you know what time it is?"

"Oh, it's [insert time here]"

"Oh, I don't care. I just thought you were cute and wanted to talk to you."

She giggles, thanks me, we continue to talk about random **** until we part ways, I ask for her number. Bing bang boom. Flawless victory.

fake it until you make it is actually decent advice here, people are naturally attracted to confidence. that's not to say you should become an arrogant *******, and some chicks will actually find it endearing/humanizing if you just say "i'm pretty nervous but..." because chances are, if they're kinda into you too, they're a bit nervous as well

the point is to be honest. none of these bullshit stories or ploys to get a girl's number or start something. that's usually where the whole "friendzone" (don't get me started on that but y'all know what i'm talking about) miscommunication begins.

look, I really don't wanna bluntly say "yes" and sound like a jerk, but, once you know enough information, once you know what works and what doesn't, once you learn how you should portray stuff, It's simpler than you would expect, a lot simpler, critically so...
actually all you really have to do is follow a few rules, and have a few outlooks in mind...

 

But what about trying to get a girl to take my number? That's what I was really going for here. Getting her number before she called me was actually rather unexpected.

I was in a club once and pretended I was deaf to a guy hitting on me, when he turned away to get a drink I smoothly ran into the dancing crowds. I was in no way attracted to him though, and I was drunk, and it was in a club.

That same night though I met the current guy I'm sort of seeing so it wasn't a total loss and giving him my number was easy when he just asked for it.

If a guy came up to me and asked for my number and I liked him then I would give it to him. But good on you I say! : D You did well, now bask in your glory! >:3
