Untrue. If both players have the same version of Project M, and don't have any bone-edited character textures or completely changed stages, then they can play online together. If you and I were to play Project M together, we would be unable to play on Battlefield because of the stage mod I have for it. Instead of it being one battlefield stage, it's literally three smaller Battlefield's floating around the Triforce.

Anyway, my point is: So long as both players have the same mods, it is possible to play Project M online.

Been over this, we have. Just because you suck at fighting Marth does not mean he is "unfair". I want to make clear that Sheik is much faster and has more spam potential (some ranged on top of speed).

Wavedashing isn't actually considered a glitch. It's considered a corner case that comes from the way traction and momentum work in the engine. It was noticed in development and they decided to leave in. I have no idea why you don't like it outside of competitions. It's just another part of the game and stuff like L canceling, crouch canceling, techs, short hopping, jump canceling and wavedashing add depth to the gameplay, change matchups and raise the skill ceiling. It makes the game more fun for me and my circle because it allows you to do so much more that just the basic stuff. All the casuals I know at least attempt to do pretty much all these things. Also, without all the technical things in melee I'd be totally fine with the traditional fighter's community talking **** about it all the time, because they'd be right. It'd be an easy game.

 

I'm down to play a match with some people today. I rarely play Brawl, but **** it, we'll do it live. Makaze, wanna play?

Cool it you two, I don't want any arguing. You don't need to know hiw to play a game in order to have an opinion on a certain thing. I played Melee where Marth actually was unfair (fukkin' fast as hell), so I don't think he's unfair in Brawl. If anything, Pit, Sheik, Sonic, and Ike (less than the others) are unfair. Pit has a spam projectile, a spamny side special that can reflect projectiles, a mirror shield that blocks attacks from the front and reflects, wings, and a spam combo. Sheik is exactly how Makaze said, Sonic is too fast and cheap, and Ike can KO you with a full charge Smash Attack or Eruption when you're at 50%. Granted, Ike is less cheap than the others because he is slow, so your reward for slowness is a low percentage KO.

 

Her entire argument is based on the fact she can't play with or against Marth, which is how most opinions are formed on a character in these types of games.

Super Smash is a fast fighting game, its only to be expected there are fast characters, Marth does low damage per hit, and has troubling Smashing people off the ring, his high hit count is intended that he needs a high percentage to knock people off.

 

Star is a guy, and your counter is fair enough. Case Closed, I want no more on the subject.

 

Unfair thing about Marth in melee was that he had tipper that powered up his attacks at the end of his range and had a range that was only beaten by moves like Link's upb and Ganon's fair. Also, magnet gloves outrange Yoshi's grab. His tier also owed to his combo on highest ranked Fox and Falco.

Sheik and Sonic aren't tournament viable in Brawl. Sheik is weak and has low knockback. Almost decent for comboing, but still has an easily countered recovery and maybe one half decent kill move. Sheik/Zelda is usable, barely. Sonic is just weak and easy to kill.

We can now. I decided to try and beat three Lv. 9 Marth's (in a team) and I couldn't do it as Marth, so I'm feeling pretty weak, but eh. Might as well.
