Hey Legend of Korra fans

Am I the only one who thought Beginnings was kinda meh? I found myself watching it one day without knowing what it was, and halfway through went, "Wait, is THIS the thing everybody's flipping their wigs about?!"

Also Book 2 has no right to use Iroh or Wan Shi Tong and TOTALLY fucks with the latter's character

 

Ah yeah, I liked those too. You're right, LoK does have some really endearing moments like that; the Airbabies are all really great, and it was nice seeing Tenzin interact with each one. Jinora having a hand in the plot was also good (even though it was done poorly for her after 'A New Spiritual Age'). Tenzin's siblings were also great, and I really wish they expanded on that conflict some more as it was so interesting to think about their relationship with Aang/Katara and how things got shaped considering Aang had to do stuff with Tenzin to continue the Air Nomad traditions, what that meant for Kya/Bumi, and so on.

 

You need to go into from the start of the series to really appreciate it, I think. It becomes this nice breath of fresh air.

 

I don't see how "they don't have the right". It's the same universe, it makes sense, and the first character helped Korra's personality.
and the latter character doesn't have much of a character >_> Tbh that moment in the show was extremely dark but I couldn't help but laugh.

 

I'm so mad at how that whole thing was handled

Showing the professor as a corpse completely shits on the ambiguity and symbolism of his fate in the original in the name of being dark and edgy, and WHY WOULD WAN SHI TONG SIDE WITH A HUMAN IN A WAR AMONG HUMANS WHEN HUMANS TRYING TO KILL OTHER HUMANS IS WHAT MADE HIM TAKE HIS LIBRARY BACK TO THE SPIRIT WORLD IN THE FIRST PLACE

 

Sounds like you're letting the original show ruin some great moments in the new one.

The alliance thing really seems more like a contrivance to reference the original series and score some bonus points with the fans

 

The show itself is way better at that than I am

Iroh was mostly a joke, I didn't mind him as much

 

Comes with the territory of being a sequel. If the 30th episode in a show completely went against something in the earlier episodes that was good, would you still say it's okay?

Is it me or are those twins creepy? Do they get character development? Do they rise to the challenge to become interesting? Am I trying too hard to find something interesting?

 

Saying anything about that will give it away, but it's probably not what you're thinking
