    Don't shoot yourself...

About being new--It happens. I'm really shy, but sometimes, YOU have to be the one to say hi. If you dont do it, they may think you're just mean and anti-social. If you really want friends, strike up a conversation or two. If they treat you badly, then forget them. There are other people out there to be friends with.
I know how you feel, honestly. Not with dancing, really, but with a lot of other things. Like--for example, the plays. I love to act. Usually, musicals. This is back when I lived in Washington, lots of white people. I'm not being racist but...I start to feel lonely, rejected and out of place after a while.
Anyway...The people I audition for usually give me a good part because they think I'm a good actress. But when I'm on stage, I'm usually the only girl with darker skin then the rest >> SUCK--ISH. I stand out more, people are always talking...It's horrible. But dont let people bring you down because of their own incapabilty to accept people.
If you're really passionate about dancing, then dance. Don't worry about them. I know it's hard but honestly, it gets better.
About the being tall thing...I'm pretty tall too. I hate it. People are always talking about me going to marry a short guy and having to bend down to kiss my hubby v_v. But this year, a lot of the guys are taller then me. This one guy even said "Jeez, are you gonna grow at all this year? You're so short..."
I know he probably said it flatter me but...It worked.
Plus, tall=Could be future SUPER MODEL! *Throws on stunna shades*
Anyway, it gets better. It always gets better. A lot of people who have gotten far today have stories like yours. I wish you the best! If you need to talk more, you can always PM me. =3 Take carez.

God, I can't wait to get out of the Texas. Granted, I've only lived in two places here (Port Uathor/Groves and Bridge City, the latter was better), but I want out of here so bad!

Everywhere I look, stupidity, arrogance, racism. I can't take it!

My brother is racist, my grandma is racist, my mom, some of my friends will joke around, but I don't think they're racists.

The only people who are not racist is my uncle (who is the second most intelligent, logic-wise, in my family), and my friends at school.

At school, especially in theater arts, many of the Afro-American students proclaim many things against Caucasians.

    Here's a bite of it:

We were doing a news story in groups, and one story was a group of students beating up a teacher. One person said "White kids, black teacher. You do the math."

I am sick of it all!

    Get out the fifties people!

My brother doesn't want Obama (who I support) to be president, because he's black. Yet, Obama is WAY smarter than both of us. I'm smart, but I'm not Stanford material.

Dude! What is with your family?! THey are crazy! Except your uncle. He's living in the present but your family members? Helllooooo? THis is not teh 50's! My god! Why are there people like this! California is a place where there are far few less people who are racists but sometimes use the racist words that are the same race as hello.

Have you thought, and I know some people will laugh at this... of taking dance lessons? If you can't do that, try watching some music videos where there is dancing in them and try mimicking the moves. You can learn to dance if you want to. Just don't say you 'can't' because that automatically will set you to fail. Also, try listening to the beat of music which is what you will move to. If you can do something like hear the beat of the music, then try nodding your head to it..then try shrugging your shoulders, moving feet to the beat, etc, you can work out the rest of you to learn to dance because really that's the biggest thing is moving to the rhythm.

What grade are you in? Sometimes kids are cruel and rotten around while others just aren't sure what to think of a person until he/she gets out there and mingles. Your height is probably more something some of them will envy in the end. A lot more people would rather be tall than short. Why don't any of your friends go to the dances you do? That would probably help you out too if you could get a couple to go with you. Can you go to their dances? I'm just poking around here to get more of your situation because yeah, that sucks. It seems you really want to get out there and be part of things and I think you can do it so hang in there. It's awkward but if you can overcome it, you will be a lot stronger for it.

There are better areas in Texas that aren't so biased but yeah, some areas are very backwater with their thoughts. I still remember when Texans kicked out Bill Nye the Science Guy for saying the moon doesn't have its own light but reflects light from the sun. Prejudice in some areas is pretty bad too. I was just surprised at how old fashioned some areas of Texas were while there are others that are more current and those sorts of things aren't as frequent. I can see why you want out of your area though. I'd go nuts there too if I was stuck with that.

I can't just ask him why he hugs me,that would be weird. And I barely met him near the end of last year. And when I walk with him after school to the gate,he's sometimes talking with his girlfriend on the phone. And I sometimes feel that he may be having problems in his relationship.Because I hear it in his voice but I could be wrong. My friends used to bug me about him.But now its just, "So Vivian, what's going on with you and -insert his name here-" And then they laugh but as a joke. But they bother me about him that much anymore.

Ahhh. That means you're getting closer to have a normal life. Plus, keep in faith that someday you'll see her again. Someday.
