Help deciding new game

IU is fun, just a tri-ace RPG. Last Remnant is that JRPG that's WAAAAAY too f*cking deep. WAY. .... WAAAAY. And that's not a plot thing. It's a... this JRPG's combat system is so complex that grinding can literally screw you from progressing.

Lost Odyssey is a rarity and a core JRPG.

 

........How exactly do you end up making a game too deep? I'm not sure I quite follow what you mean. And how can you have a complex fighting system so bad you can't even grind? I'm serious, these are legitimate questions, because I have not seen a game that's been described this way, and I'm curious now.

 

Just how Last Remnant works. If you grind, some parts become impossible because of how leveling works. The thing is, the game NEVER explains this or how leveling works. It comes off as basic but nononononononooooooo
